46 years ago my husband came with me too pick my wedding dress which i still love now. Then we went and picked his suit tie ect . My mum was happy too arrange everything else bridesmaid dresses cars cake flowers the lot . I LOVE ren fairs! I worked at the Arizona one for 5 years, it was wonderful! getting married while every one is looking wonderful in those dresses and costumes must be fantastic and so much fun for everyone.

She didn't. She was pushy pushy pushy trying to get her way about "traditional." Well, white has only been tradition for about 150 years. It's the bride's wedding, not the MIL.

@@lauramcinerney1559 the bride wanted to compromise - she wanted to make the MIL happy! And it worked out - the MIL was supportive of a pink dress (which is pretty amazing considering she wanted traditional), the bride didn't end up wearing a veil and the MIL was fine with that, and the bride wore the MIL's pearls. Can't see where exactly she didn't support the bride! She clearly loves her daughter in law. Wish my MIL had been like that!

​@@lauramcinerney1559 yes she did support the bride. The staff elicits opinions of the entourage. They said what they thought, and the bride chose what she wanted. It was a fine interaction

I think updo tiara combo, even without the veil would have looked even more bridal, BUT with the small ceremony and the location, I think her choices were just as good. Also, I think wearing MIL's pearls was sweet, and they looked lovely in her and with the dress.

Nice dress but not bridal! Even for her carribean marriage was too much! Not the perfect choice! Her hair weren't good either... It's a shame when you try so hard but you don't get the result you imagined! But..she said she was happy so... But me if I was her guest I wouldnt say she was a stunning bride... But it made the bride happy so...

Exactly and, pink might be her favorite coulor but a bride in pink looks more like a bridesmaid and the veil helped with the bridal look but .....

My mother made the gowns for both my older sisters. I shopped alone for my own from my own pocket. To this day, I don't know why there was a difference. Strangely enough, nobody raised the subject.

Yeah! Flowers instead of veil. For the kind of wedding she had, the pink dress was perfect.

Lol I’m 67 and am always looking at bridal gowns and prom dresses on Facebook marketplace. I will never remarry but love looking at them. I also enjoy this show.

Probably also not the MIL Choice the men didn’t have jackets and ties-Jessica probably also made that choice, as is her prerogative-but would have been better with jackets, and a veil on her.

...and trust me, it makes life so much easier with a supportive, loving set of in-laws!! (Unfortunately, I wasn't that lucky).
