Lol, lying and projecting onto Po. Shen was really complex and vile, fr, one of my fav villains ever.

It’s the curve of their necks, it’s more reminiscent of animated hyenas than animated wolves (anthropomorphic or not)

The 4th movie is trash, kfp 1 and 2 are the best in the franchise

Actually, the script defines the movie is good or bad. Actors, directors, cameramen, etc can only increase /decrease the quality a little bit. But if the script is bad no amount of famous actors is going to save the movie. And the scripts of the first 3 movies are equally great. While the script of the 4th is a mediocre at best. And the writers of the 4th movie are very well aware of it. They even had to include jokes how they could not come up with anything wise or smart to say to the audience, like the previous movies did. Well, it least their sense of humor is still good. But the 4th movie is a typical example of how producers try to make money without having a good story to tell first. And why the writers are the most important people in the movie making industry, not the actors.

Not for long. They can take a higher leap and glide through the wind. So whenever we see shen fly, he is at a higher end of the slope.

The entire tower sequence is so GOATED I couldn't believe what I was witnessing as a child.

Best villain for me. Menacing, actual motivations, understood by the audience, capable, direct opposition to the main character more than just physically. That's why I'll always hold Kung Fu Panda 2 as the best of the whole franchise (unless they actually step it up in the last two "planned" ones). The only character without that doesn't meet all those qualifiers I mentioned in Dreamworks that does it for me without needing is Death in Puss in Boots (though he's not a "villain"). Shen and Death are two top-tier antagonists.

It wasn't his origin. It was the fact he was groomed for one thing in life, then when that one thing was taken away he broke down. Unlike Po, when Oogway turned him away, Shifu did not support him, and he had nothing else in life to fall back on because he was raised being told he'd be the DW. Po loved Kung Fu but if that went south, he still had cooking & noodles. That was at least something, and he was good at it. Some people who condem Tai Lung as just pure evil fail to internalize that he didn't just grow up wrong out of nowhere. He was genuinely raised wrong. He is a victim of some things BUT he is still the villain. You can be both. HIs anger was justified. Attacking the village was not - far as we know.

@@SilverWolf442 And what did being the Dragon Warrior entail? What did he think would come afterward? What is there to fall back on from? He just wanted power and turned to attacking random families when he was denied it. Tigress also trained until her bones broke. She and the rest of the 5 were also told one of them would be the Dragon Warrior, and she was also angry at Po for butting into their world. She didn't go on a psychotic rampage taking it out on the rest of the Valley.

They all outcasts who started training late in life as Po did, and when they were denied, Shifu stuck up for all of them & constantly let it be known that he felt Oogway made a mistake. As opposed to just keeping quiet & turning away from them as he did Taiu Lung. And worse, Tai Lung was supposed to be his son, and he didn't defend him at all. Compared to Tigress, who he did say was the DW until Po accidently fell in front of her. And honestly, filmmakers said they added the valley rampage last min. to make Tai Lung less sympathetic after test audiences had too much sympathy for him. So Lord knows if they truly thought it all the way through. Tai Lung supposedlt walked down all those steps to massacre a village, then went all the way back up them to steal the scroll? When Po messed up his first time teaching a class up, citizens in the valley called him a loser to his face & mocked him. And they did this when he was the DW. No telling any ridicule Tai Lung may have faced after he got rejected which could have led to him snapping for all we know. Maybe he did try dealing with it more rationally until he got pushed to a breaking point. . There is always more story that could be had there. If ever shows up again in *future* films, we may get that. But Lord Knows. Again, Tai Lung was not innocent & he did not handle things the right way. Many just sympathize with him, but doesn't mean all his actions are condoned. We just recognize there was more to him than being "pure evil" like Shen & Kai.

He wasn't sticking up for them, he was looking for a solution to immanent danger. Behind the scenes trivia is interesting to think about, but you don't bring in rough drafts of a book to inform events in the final print. So he did go all the way to town to take his anger out on the villagers first.

@@Ultimaniacx4 MY point with that was, that the circumstabnces are questionable since it was a last min. add-on to Tai Lung's story because tyest audiences had too much sympathy for him. So still makes no sense he gets rejects and doesn't take the scroll then & there but walked down 2,000 stairs to destroy a town and go all the way back up. Pretty asinine. SO very easy to believe there is more to the story than Tigress' one-sided narration. BUT we won't know until Tai Lung has some kind of role in future films.

It’s a utterly terrible movie for a king fu panda movie but that does not distract from the sensational acting from jack black and beautiful animation, once again not a good sequel movie but a good movie in general
