Yeah! Considering, the actor playing Anthony is actually a gay, they do have amazing chemistry.

There chemistry was intense and pulled at my heart. Kate made me fall in love with her because she wanted the best for her sister but she couldn't ignore how she felt about Anthony. So overall the story and acting was way better and more relative. Season 1 felt more royal and regal and a little scripted

He is a brilliant actor. I found him soooo real. I felt everything he want to transmit through his character👏great acting!

I LOVE SEASON 2 WAY BETTER THAN SEASON 1 ! if SEASON 1 was the reason i got INTERESTED, SEASON 2 made me STAYED. the TENSION was PHENOMENAL and ANGST was CHEF'S KISSES, it'll be hard for any show to get that kind of STANDARD or VIBE again in awhile unless Bridgerton does it again that is. KUDOS TO SIMONE and JONATHAN and the WHOLE TEAM, for they have done well.

Right! A lot of people complained about the lack of sex scenes and so nd so but I actually loved it. I was able to feel and see their chemistry and intimacy without the additional sex scenes. It was amazing, especially storywise. Tho i did love season 1, season 2 made me completely forget about the absence of Rege who i thought would really impact my opinion on this season

Exactly what I told my sisters!! That's one thing I like about American and British movies and shows. Yeah, there isn't much representation when it comes to the race, but at least they cast more desi actresses who are more brown/dark skinned. I rarely or almost never see that in actual Indian films coming out of South Indian film industry. The actresses are fair skin that are even more edited on screen that they end up looking like Indian/White mixed. It's funny they don't have the same mentality for male actors. You see a lot of dark skinned male actors on Indian films.

I don't think we got an explanation as to why he was missing though. Anthony mentioned that he missed the duke especially since Daphne was becoming a nuisance to him as a result.

I’m not going to lie, I was already resolved not to take this season seriously, because the Duke was not in there. I am SO glad I didn’t listen to myself. I found all the blunders, the tension, and overall content just more enjoyable. I found myself laughing hysterically, when I wasn’t screaming for someone to kiss, this season. I am glad this season wasn’t riddled with a bunch of sex scenes. I dare feel that people who were disappointed aren’t truly engaged with or understand the characters or their positions. It made sense for Anthony to be a full on rake , the first season: he wasn’t the one too pressured to settle down. Daphne was shielded from intimacy with a man. So when she finally was able to, she got to do it as much as she wanted. It made sense for the gratuitous sex scenes. This season is much more transactional for Anthony. He’s opposed to love and more resolved to doing his duty of carrying the family, by way of marriage. So yes, he was with some “women of the night”, but I think that was more of relieving stress. His objectification of women changed, once Kate came along and he acknowledged how he felt. Love became his biggest distraction to his being a dutiful son, so his constant battling of succumbing to loving Kate should NOT have resulted in a bunch of sex scenes! Anyway (sorry for the novel), this season is off the charts. Already excited for the confirmed arrivals S3 and S4!!

My poor couch took quite a beating with my frustrations. When a kiss finally happened, you would’ve thought my favorite team just won the game!!! They did a better job, this season, in building the suspense of intimacy. I remember when Daphne and Simon were looking at the painting, and how hot it was when their hands finally met. This season, Kate had her pinky out, and it was about to touch Anthony’s, but they just missed each other….WOOOOOH! 🥵That little tease is what makes this show so awesome. The attention to detail and finding beauty in the simplest forms of intimacy.

Yes, I agree. I did wish they had kept a bit more from the book instead of changing the whole storyline. The book had me in stitches at times. But that said. I still think they did a great job. Great chemistry between Anthony and Kate.

Next season needs to be more about Kanthony because we were robbed.

I read the book when I found out there was a season 2 coming out, and wrote a review about the things I didn't like about it, like the way Kate was easily persuaded by Anthony and Anthony was ugh, stomping on Kate's hand and kissing her right after he told his mistress to go? He also planned to sleep with his mistress while still wanting to marry Edwina. I really like the change in the show, it makes me love these two characters so much more.

I also loved that she rode horses and shot guns in the series. She was pretty cool in the books(probably the best female in the books) but she was even better in the show

It seems like Rege really didn’t want to come back which is why he wasn’t there. JB wants to stay and continue to be in the series just to be a part of the bigger story but seems like Rege wanted to drastically cut ties.

Didn’t miss him at all to be honest. He really wasn’t important to the story as his story was already told. Daphne was important on the other hand.

@@RealTalkWithSSG Every book in the series focuses on another sibling of the bridgertons, so there are 8 books and as far as I know a few novellas. Shonda Rhimes has said that they will not go in order of the books, so we really don't know which one will be next.

@@RealTalkWithSSG I didn't read the others as well, but I can imagine that the author followed a trope, so its kind of necessary for the writers to change the plot so that the different seasons aren't as similar to the others and still interesting to watch

In the book they actually wed a lot earlier. Antony freaks out when Kate gets stung by the bee, tries to suck the poison out, when Lady Feathrington walks in on them. So they have to get married (he was never engaged to Edwina). They really dragged it out in the show in comparison.

@@megreyes8242 Yes, definitely. Edwina always said she wanted a scholar in the book so she wasn’t really that upset. I definitely recommend reading the books though. They are brilliant. The audio books are great too, had me in stitches several times.
