Thanks again for this marshall, I wake up every weekend morning to a coffee and some much appreciated wisdom from the greatest teacher I've ever seen. I feel like the child in me wants marshall to hold my hand through everything art 🤣. I'm new to actually trying to "art" and Marshall makes it fun and exciting for me to look forward to putting into practice what he teaches us and it's explained so it actually starts to stick to my feeble stubborn adult mind, 😄. Thanks again Mr.Vandruff. Matt.

I'm going to make an attempt to explain the difference between Wedging, Passing, and Locking. Wedging is when an object pushes into another object. Locking is when an object wraps around another object. Passing is when an an object goes through and appears on both sides of the another object. IMHO Correct me if I'm wrong. An example is the upper arm wedges into the shoulder. The shoulder locks around the upper arm. The only examples I can think of passing arm and leg bones passing through the body. The ankle bone (bottom of lower leg bone) passes through the ankle). The upper arm bone passes through the arm just above the elbow. Touch both sides of this bone and rotate the forearm and you will notice it won't move.

seems like Wedging is creating an append (adding lines to form planes) to "merge" forms whereas Locking is extruding and carving forms to "fit". Its like working in a 3D modeling software program like googles sketchup except with paper and pencil. Maybe a good exercise would be to act like a 3-D modeling program

Your lectures, are saving my life. :) And, seen in a slightly different "perspective" (beginning with perspective lecture 1), are unlocking something deeper than the wonderful knowledge you're providing. Thank you. Wishing you so much well deserved success. As an aside, I hope you won't mind me sharing my insights inspired from your work (crediting you and redirecting to your content). I'm unsure how to do that; paraphrasing may take away from the crystal clarity your direct word choices provide. I'll have to "remix" and rearrange, and hope it will be okay. I just observed some profoundness that I feel needs to be highlighted to certain audiences in a certain slant of light. Best wishes. -shriel

In the example for locking - shouldn't the tapered end of the left box make it such that when both the boxes are locked, the tapered end hangs below the surface of the right box instead of touching all the way through?
