imagine being judged for a dry sense of humor and a few sarcastic comments here and there... @@MartialArtsCat101 well you are right there is some talent in brie Larson. I have seen only three movies including her ( not including endgame), in room she was definitely fantastic but in skull island and captain marvel, she was hard to watch. She at best is a average actor like most of actors today. She can play only a few kind of roles. But a good actor is that actor which can play any kind of roles. So I don't think she is going to win an Oscar unless she plays same kind of roles that she played in room. But acting level has gone down so are Oscars so anything can happen.

I think this is the perfect speech because she's not pretending to hold back crying during the speech or acting like it wasn't expected (the winner usually has won every award that season leading up to the Oscars). She also thanked film festivals and the distributor and moviegoers rather than just a handful of people who helped her personally. And gave the director credit for contributing to her performance.

In all the awards in general, why the presenters of the acting categories don't say the word "for" or "in" anymore? It seems kind of lazyness. Brie is a great actress with plenty of range. Marvel can make even the best actors look mediocre. Just think of all the incredible star power they have had and wasted, except for some great turns by RDJ, Tom Holland, Chris Evans, and a small handful of others. They’ve hired loads of other talented actors though, people with Oscars and BAFTAs and so on, and pretty much just gave them a few lines. Why? To draw in older viewers, people who might not otherwise go to a superhero flick. “Oh, Robert Redford’s in it!” - or Michael Douglas, William Hurt, Cate Blanchet, Michelle Pfeiffer, Stanley Tucci, Annette Benning, and on an on. They got a nice paycheck for an easy role, Marvel film buys credibility with older audiences, boom - Marvel makes a bunch of money. They snapped up Brie after she won an Academy Award, gave her $5 million to star in a mediocre film (I personally enjoyed it, but I’m not going to say it’s great or anything). I would have grabbed the $5 million too, I’m not sure how many of us wouldn’t. Can’t blame actors for cashing in once in a while, RDJ sure did! Anyway sorry for the essay but I’m basically saying Marvel is like a machine that makes mostly bland, formulaic movies, and gets big stars to make them successful. As the saying goes, hate the game (Marvel or other blockbuster franchises) and not the player (the actors). Most have already made their mark or still make good films with good scripts during or after their Marvel career. Scarlett, Ruffalo, Florence, Cumberbatch, et al have all made great films away from “The Mouse”. Brie is a good actor who doesn’t deserve any of the hate she gets from internet trolls and incels that automatically dislike anything with female leads, female villains, even people of color in important roles. It’s not a majority for sure, but it’s a loud and obnoxious minority. F*** em! 🥇

I think that "personal attack or something" was just her trying to be funny gone a bit wrong. It happens to all of us. Come on. I hate when people judge her solely on the basis of that interview. I think she's extremely talented. Pretty. Smart. We don't know her personally so why don't focus on her skills?
