In this episode, I finish up on the torque converter install and mount up the jackshaft, which I am reusing from a previous project. I had to fabricate a new mount to get the proper chain alignment on the left side of the bike to the rear wheel.

just some advice im not a welder but im old and have done it a few times . remember that bike frames are super thin pipe . it dont take much to weaken the steel . every time you put to much heat to it it will soften the steel . creating a weak point . so heres my advice take from it what you will . because the steel is so weak to start with and im not sure what kind of welder your using im hoping wire feed . i would go with the lowest setting you have on it maybe the next one up from lowest depending on how well it wants to lay a bead . then i would just tac weld it in series to build up a bead . one tac weld let it cool then another tac weld . what ever your using the power is to high and it is just leaving booger welds . if its a stick welder {arc welder} then turn the power on low and tac weld your bead . be very light with your tacs . you can always knock off the slag and set another bead over the first one if you need to . when this bike is finished i would ride it very slow for the first hundred or so miles man cause some sheet is going to break . just make sure that the frame welds are good and strong and reinforced . that frame snaps at 25 mpg your going for a different kinda ride . be safe buddy

I have a cheap 125V flux core wire welder from harbor freight. It's very weak and the bracket I made was out of a bed frame to thick wall steel pipe. So, I had to switch the current to the high setting to get enough penetration for it to hold. Usually I use the low setting on the bike frame tubes and it works decently. My welds aren't pretty, but usually they hold.

@@pulsar2121 hope you dont think im trying to be a know it all or be hard on ya bro . im just worried about you getting hurt . ok i get the cheap welder and when you have to use it on high like that try stacking tac welds . it takes a little longer but it will be strong and look good to . man i wish i could show ya what i mean . but i will be watching for your test ride video for sure . remember your going to be riding this bike . if there is any place on it that worries you reinforce it . better safe then sorry .

@@diydarkmatter No worries. We're cool. I'm definitely going to be doing some more frame reinforcements and take it slow on the first ride.

@@pulsar2121 no its just a predator 79 done lots of works to adapt the tav30 to it it tops of 40-45 with me on it easily scary bike i cant imagine myself on a 212 its too bulky for my liking
