My chain started skipping this morning I had previously watched Brompton's own video on resetting the gearing & was thinking I'd probably have to take the bike to a shop to get it sorted. Then I saw this - one quick tweak to the barrel adjuster & everything is running smoothly again!

Yay! Great news, had a slipping 1st gear for a while, even after the 1st service, trying to follow the Brompton version made no sense. My gears now work perfectly thanks for making the instructions easy & understandable

By all mean, do a review of ltwoo 's Brompton derailleur. The thing is a bit hefty and is quite a chunk of metal, but it works flawlessly, like how a modern derailleur should work, and can boost your Brompton up to 9 speed (although o find it works best a 7speed)

The more I watch your videos, the more I am inclined to buy Brompton, and for me the perfect combination is Brompton T line + Metro Backpack Medium and that's all a person needs to be completely happy :P :P :P because for me happiness is having things that make things easier life and not enjoy it. For now, I'm struggling with my thoughts about which Brompton would be perfect for me, the Brompton P or T, or maybe the electric P, so I'm looking for any information about these models, their advantages and disadvantages.

Or - you could just avoid all of this by buying a hub geared Brompton, a superb, no-fuss, almost maintenance- free gearing system perfect for round town, country lane and utility riding. Oh, hang on a minute … they’ve moved away from the bombproof little hub and we now have that ugly, fussy derailleur sitting near enough to the floor so it catches every bit of road dirt and means you’ll spend every weekend cleaning your bike! Sorry Hannah, not your fault, but I’d rather be out on my little hub-geared bike having adventures rather than constantly indexing and cleaning it’s fussy, fugly gear set! My opinion, I appreciate if you live in a hot dry country derailleurs on the floor are not a problem!

Rough welding

A pity Brompton hasn’t put more effort into developing real-world improvements such as 20” wheels, front suspension or disc brakes. But If, as they claim, their sole focus is on city riding - ignoring the many of us who use their Bromptons for touring and utility purposes - what is the real gain in having a narrow-range, vulnerable, dirt-attracting multi-adjustable conventional derailleur over the existing robust, wide-range hub gear that usually needs a single adjustment only every thousand miles? Answer apparently: it weighs slightly less.

Brompton should have marked the small bolts: High and Low, to make it a little more clear what to adjust! If in Asia, you are able to buy a 7 gear Brompton-like wheel, with the same kind of Changer System. Finn. Denmark
