Thank you for showing what a real farm actually looks like. My farm currently looks like I'm a full time thistle grower, lol. Your place looks amazing!!!

I absolutely love your channel Geoff. I feel that you show the real side of life and not just ‘insta perfect’ footage. It really gives hope to me for sure and some of your fails are my successes and vice a versa. Weather, sickness, pests and predators are all sent to test us and I’m so happy to see you thriving and still being able to poo through it all 🤣

Hey Geoff. I hope you are recovered now. You have been busy and as you say, you have more to do. There always is. Things are coming on, glad the weather has warmed up, it has for us, we have had a lot of rain and some thunderstorms. You'll soon have a lot of crops ready. Thanks for this. 🤓🐶🧔

I feel your pain about the weeds and critters nibbling as I've been away and garden now all over grown and sunflowers eaten to oblivion. But it will all flourish soon and loved your pix on Facebook of the circle - a great addition to it all.

It’s looking amazing!! I always like the way you garden, but your veg garden is looking super smart now. My garden looks more like your flower garden, started on the thistles and grass yesterday and just about to head out to finish the job today and hoping I have enough cardboard. I’ve got a massive problem with slugs and snails this year, if I lived in France I’d be doing an amazing trade in escargot 😂

How you’re feeling better now. I appreciate the realness. My garden has got away from me this year already. Hopefully get some time this week to tackle weeds! I could almost smell the sweet William 😊

I would strongly consider keeping the grass border around your veg plot cut very short as currently it is allowing all the small mammals to waltz in and out under cover. Other ideas could be some fake birds of prey/owls or a burying some rodent proof netting around parts of the veg garden.

I agree, but you know May ... strim, turn around and it's back to long grass again! 🤣 rodents outside of the polytunnel are not the issue luckily ... I have a pair of kestrels who hunt this patch and every day (as well as a border collie obsessed with vole hunting). 😂

I feel your frustration with the weeds, nature just wants to cover the earth with vegetation. I try to plant the rows a hoes width apart and the plants a hoes width from each other. Then I can run the hoe through fairly quickly but there are always those weeds that manage to come up at the base of the plants which need hand weeding. Leaving the hoed weeds where they are give me a free mulch. Hope you have a productive summer 😊

@@BrimwoodFarm , 😃 👍 Great! ... 🤔 Hmmm? I'd think about planting them where they'll grow but will they continue to grow without supplemental watering during your dry season? If not you may need to baby them in pots until next spring... You'll have to ask someone who knows... As I don't know the growing habits of those plants. (They don't grow here in sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵 USA.) As always, sending lots of love 💖. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.

Would a scarecrow or things like old CDs on string help to keep some of the birds away? I've tried little silver child's windmills before.

Might have to try that. I fear the 'wild' birds around here having become too accustomed to my presence!
