It's a very good idea to get a friend for Kinta. I've always had only one cat at a time, first because it just happened this way, and now, I fly with my cat, and you can only fly 1 cat per person in the cabin (and I'm single/separated at the moment) and travel frequently. But I'm considering getting Merri a brother or sister. Merri is a Norwegian. They are very friendly and outgoing and get along well with people and other cats. I've stayed in over a dozen AirBnBs and hotels with Merri so far and it's so great how he adapts to every new place. I have a video about how we travel together and also a vlog series called "2 Cool Cats in the City" (me and Merri in Montreal for 6 days). I enjoy the South KLorean KZfaq channel "Spoonful of Ragdolls" where they have 11 Ragdoll cats all of the same family. Watching it made me want to get a Ragdoll... Maybe in a few years ... Monchi-kun wa totemo kawaii desu!! ❤

Yuu, I had a cat (Norweigan Longhaired) for 20 years. Since he was a kitten. Small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. I miss him dearly, he passed in 2013. In the begining, I spent all my free time with him, just playing & being near him, also let him be during the day. But I lived with family during that time. So I don't know what they did. He bonded with me, food & litter provider & cuddler that I was with him. Also, I let him do what he wanted too. I always got down on his level, on the floor to play , cuddle, etc. The personality that your pet has , probably will make the most difference. Best of luck & enjoy your family.

Very good that you got a second cat for Kinta. So nice that Kinta accepted Monchi so fast. I am happy about it as it can be stressful for the owner when it takes some time - but even then the cats normally work it out on their own. - I have no preferred animals. I have a dog and six cats. Very cute and thoughtful to have 2 cats to keep each other company if you’re too busy. Also, summers are gonna get hotter so maybe giving both cats a trim; lessen their floofs so they’ll easily feel cool breeze. What I do for my cats every summer, I placed a frozen ice pack in a deep plate and put it in front of their small electric fan. They always sleep next to the ice pack if it’s too hot. 😅

Congratulations on the new kitten. I think one way you can bond a little more with both your kitties is to try to make a short time of 10 minutes to play with them before they eat. Usually cats will groom themselves after a meal, so brushing them at that time will remind they of how their mother cats groomed them as well. Living in a small apartment, didn't really have the option to introduce a new cat slowly. So far, ive had that happen three times, only one time did it not go so well but it didn't go bad either (one of my two cats hissed at the newest kitty for more than a week before calming down). One of the cats was and old female, she ended up adopting my lone male kitty. When she passed, my brother gave me a cat to cheer him up (it worked, he became very depressed after his "mom" died). I count myself lucky in that regard, would be really sad if they had really hated each other when they met. I think getting a second cat is a good idea, it gives them someone else to take out their energy on and also gives them company. A lone cat has to rely on you completely for that, which can be a bad if you are not at home allot. 4:05 "He didn't like being held" Here's a tip on kitties, hold your cat but let them go when they want to go. Cat's don't mind being held, that's not the problem. The problem is that allot of people don't listen to the cat, cats want to know they can be let go if they want to. If you do this enough times, they will become comfortable with being held and might even love it, just don't hold the kitty if they don't want to be held.

My favorite animal can’t be kept as a pet, but Red Pandas are my favorite. They are so cute with their big eyes, fiery red fur, and playful personalities! They look a lot like raccoons, but even cuter…. My family goes to the zoo, once a year, in a nearby city, and they have two red pandas. When we went last month, I only got to see the back of one, and was disappointed…

I adopted a cat from the animal shelter 2 years ago. She had spent 4 years there, with 2 of those years perched on top of a closet, only coming down to eat and use the litter box. When I brought her home, she immediately found refuge on top of our closet. I was surprised that, despite her fear, she would always find a way to use the litter box. She was the cleanest cat I ever had, and because of that, I thought to myself that she could spend the next 2 years in our home like that and I would be lucky anyway. I respected her anxiety and patiently waited for her to adjust. After 6 months, she started to explore the house when I was present, and I maintained a respectful distance, understanding her trauma and temperament. Now, she spends most of her time on my lap, and I've become her favorite person in the house. This has been the closest bond I've ever had with a cat in my life.

When you have one cat they focus all their attention on you. But when another cat comes in the home they will divide their attention so it can feel like they like you less. But it's not true. Don't worry. Monchi likes you a lot. I have two cats, birth sisters. They had to be separated for almost two months because one had a little ringworm. When I reunited them they acted like strangers. Hissing and being very territorial. But luckily it only took less than two weeks to be like sisters again. You are lucky to have two sweet cats that bonded at first meeting. Congratulations on the new addition to your family. They are both so sweet.

About 16 years ago, I adopted an orange tabby cat (2-1/2 years old) who was a part of my life for the next 15 years, before she died. Her name was Miss Hissy. She was a bit shy and didn't like o be held, but she would come up next to me and cut up on the couch with me. About 3 months after she died, I adopted another orange tabby cat - this one a male, also 2-1/2 years old, named Milo. While they look very much alike, his personality is very different - he's much more energetic, is not at all shy, loves being petted and sleeps next to me at night. I love/loved them both and my favorite mantra to them was/is "You are the most wonderful cutie in the whole, wide world, and my life is so much better just because you're in it." which I say several times a day as I give pets.

By the way, your cats are beautiful! I love cats, but my husband is allergic, and has asthma, so I can’t have one. The next door neighbor used to have an orange tabby cat, that lived outside, named “copper”. Copper loved me! He would often sleep on my porch, and would sometimes meow at my door or window for me to come pet him. One of his owners told me that Copper loved me more than her. She ended up dying after sustaining a head injury, and his other owner was struggling financially. I noticed that Copper’s bowl wasn’t being filled with food, and he was begging me to feed him(His meow was very different, and he kept walking over to his empty bowl, and looking at me…), so I gave him some tuna fish, and bought a bag of cat food to give to his owner for him. This probably worsened the whole “Copper thinks that he’s mine” situation, but I loved him with all my heart, and refused to let him starve! One Christmas Eve, somehow my back door ended up being partially opened(I still have no idea how that happened…), and Copper snuck into my house! Thankfully, I was able to put him back outside, and clean up, without my husband having an asthma attack. We ended up having a baby with a congenital heart defect, born two months prematurely, and I went to live at the hospital with her until she could finally come home. Copper disappeared at some point while my baby and I were at the hospital. It was the middle of winter, and it was after a bad winter storm that he disappeared. I badly miss him, but hold out hope that someone mistook him for a stray, and took him in…

OMG if I was in my 20’s I would fly and meet you! I love Japan anyway 😂😂. (I’m a bit older but I don’t act my age. I play FFXIV so there ya go). Favorite animal are rescues (as I’m typing this my cat Zoey is running like a nutjob). I had three cats. I had to put Tinkerbell (my first baby) to sleep last August. I didn’t know she was sick, she was super cuddly and all over me which normally she wouldn’t do much. I remember her big blue eyes looking up at me. That she knew she was dying but she was saying “I love you and you were the best mommy ever”. Then this May, I had to put my Daisy to sleep. She was a Shih-Tzu/Maltese mix. Her sister Dusty is still with us as is Zoey and Pyxie (another cat that was rescued). Don’t worry too much about the new baby not being so cuddly right now. They have their moments. And they will probably wrestle playfully and chase each other. And get the kitten accustomed to the litter box. When Zoey was a year old, Tinkerbell would not let her pass to use the box. One day, Zoey just beat her up (after Tinks would beat HER up) and she used the box LOL! Sorry for the long story! Those cats are lucky to have you as their daddy. Also know that if you buy them something and it comes in a box….they will like the box and that’s it. They don’t care if you spent ¥1200 on a toy. 😂😂

I got my cat from the pet shelter. She is round and orange so her name is Pumpkin. This spring a stray mama cat had kittens in our backyard, We trapped her and her kittens to take to the Humane Society so they could be adopted to good homes. But we couldn't stand not keeping one of the cute kittens. We chose the smallest, the one most timid, the last one to eat. Her name is Calypso. I hope you have as much fun as we have had. Please remember to spay and neuter. It will help your cats live longer.

Hi Yuu! I have a one year old cat (Kimitsu), and two monthes ago I decided for the first time in my life, to get a second one. So I adopted a little black kitten (Neo, 2 month old). They immediately matched, and played together. The little one is not shy at all, he already is the leader of the pack (lol). I adopted the kitten because my current cat has a very calm and kind temper. Don't worry for your relationship with Monchi. The only secret to bond is LOVE. Take him with you from time to time and cuddle with him, to show you're his dad. PS: By the way, in France the vets do not recommend milk, because very few cats assimilate it correctly. On the other hand, kibbles are essential, even for kittens.

Of course you are right, each animal has its own personality! We have a cat who will be 13 years old this year. My family loves animals so i grew up having cats, dogs and rabbits at home. But the last time i had my own dog ( Dachshund) was when i was 14 years old. She was pregnant when someone stole her, it was a big shock for me the way i lost her so since then i couldn't adopt other dog anymore. Few years later i found 2 abandoned new born kitten near our house. I kept and took care of them because i was sure that someone threw them away, i called them both ming ming because they looked like twins 😅. I was really happy, but then we migrated to Germany so my grandma took care of them instead. Since then i haven't had any pets. I guess im not lucky to have pets. But i love animals so whenever i have free time i like to visit zoo's, therapy yard with different animals, big aquarium, or butterfly garden 🥰. Sometimes our neighbors cat comes to visit me as well so i don't feel lonely anymore 😊. Btw. cats are quite independent so you don't have to worry too much, they'll come to you when they need some cuddle or attention. About the milk you're doing a good job so i see no problem 😊.
