Hi nice video. Drove through a deserted Farina in 1964.The sign on entering said, don’t ask us the way out, if we knew we wouldn’t be here..cheers.

Great photography and well done for attempting the trip. I cannot stop thinking that an awful lot of these Great Australian outback adventures are so over used now that the sense of adventure and danger have diminished? I was really surprised to see the number of 4 WD's and people on the route, one guy had a Coffee machine installed, good grief ? where is the adventure and roughing it with your morning Expresso latte americano ?

Battery technology enables coffee machines now. Sure you can rough it but with a little forward planning and the cost of an auxillary battery - why not have an espresso coffee every morning when your on the road for 3 weeks!

@@explore_moor Your joking surely ? A coffee machine is hardly essential in the Outback IMHO, whats next a George Foreman grille or Fondue set !

@@larrysimon1 no its not essential - of course it isnt but why not. Do you camp in a $5 kmart tent that leaks or spend $300 on a quality tent or swag which will keep you dry. Why isnt coffee the same? I can drink instant coffee or take a coffee machine. Are 12v accessories like led lights luxury because they're not a shellite lantern???

Thanks a lot. I was pretty unsure about the fuel consumption in the FJ but it wasn’t a concern in the end. Never took it over 1500rpm with tyres at 18psi.

Sure was. Pretty lucky with the weather too. Not hot and not cold. The unique chance of it raining actually made it even more memorable.

@@explore_moor yeah that doesn't happen to often this time of year i thought . Did you have a long range tank in your fj ? Still on my list to do for mine

@@reconadventures9257 no I don’t have a LR tank. I carried 5 x 20L and emptied them each day to cut weight as soon as possible. Had equivalent of 2 x Jerry’s left over when we hit Birdsville. Better to be safe than sorry though

@@reconadventures9257 yeah it is but you gotta do what you gotta do. Bought the @frontrunner slimline rack as it was the only rack with an off road rating equal to its onroad rating. We filled up at Mt Dare so the weight wasn’t on there for long.

Thanks Neil. I have a Phantom 4 drone. It’s bulky but the camera and stability in the wind is outstanding.

Brings back wonderful memories. We headed north at Yunta and camped in the Gammon Rangers but next time i'll do the Flinders. Any reason why you didn't take Walkers Crossing to Innaminka, was it because of the rain?

Would have liked to have driven Walkers Crossing but it was closed. Apparently some one had cut up the track in the wet a month or so prior and the land owner closed it off indefinitely.

@@explore_moor no actually we are planned for it next year July with 2 Toyota 4wds and our 2 off road modified AWDs for something different. Just browsing videos online (as such came across yours) of people's uploads so we can get an idea how we will film our 3 week trip. Thanks again for sharing with the world 👌🇦🇺
