Bristol has elected its first ever Green MP amid a Tory wipeout on the city’s fringes as part of a historic Labour landslide in Thursday’s general election. Priyanka Raval interviews the newly elected Carla Denyer at the count in Brislington.

I voted Green in Bristol East, I'm really happy to see the Greens getting 4 MP's. Labour got 5 times the votes of the Greens and over one hundred times the MP's, that is just wrong.

They don't understand working class people. The Green Party is a middle class party that represents the interests of the middle class. We saw how much they hate the working class by their attitude to us for voting to leave the right-wing, anti-democratic European Union in 2016.

@yinyatto9911 So they support transgender, & sex education to children as young as 5, whilst allowing a transgender man with a penis change in front of ladies, some convicted pedophiles that's what happened in Scotland l don't like or agree with this practice 😉 in fact Lorna Slater and her other support Grear l think his name is need removing from the Scottish Parliament 😉 my under standing of green issues is conservation not pedophiles or joint changing rooms or men dressed as women with a penis 😉 in women prisons or joint changing rooms

@@yinyatto9911 Separate entities with a common ideology. I can state that with full confidence as a former Green Party activist of 11 years, and a Green Party candidate in 3 local elections. As we have seen, the Green parties of E&W and Scotland also share a common ideology with the German Green Party and now support NATO and its associated warmongering around the world. The Irish and German Green Parties have also supported austerity policies when they have been in government coalitions. Separate entities - common ideology.

Typical Reform supporter who thinks that somehow going further right in politics is the answer. In every debate whilst others squabbled, Carla spoke with intelligence and intent pointing out the real problems with the country rather than blaming all the previous governments errors upon immigrants like a certain German party many decades ago….. It’s time somebody told the truth rather than the lying Reform party who act like Pseudo Patriots and still can’t see that leaving the EU was a bad idea.
