Yes, this updated version of Lee Greenwood's song is very beautiful and very patriotic and yes, besides Lee it features US soldiers and Home Free. Also note that Adam Rupp (Home Free's beatboxer) provides the percussion in this song and if you listen carefully you can hear him make the sound of a jet flyover right at the end.

Lee Greenwood and the Airforce singers were amazing. Home Free ALWAYS is. This song was produced during the Pandemic, which is why all of the cities are at the beginning of the song. In the beginning, when the cities were named, Chance from Home Free was in Los Angelos, the Airforce Choir was in Washington, D.C., Rob and Adam Rupp from Home Free were in Minneapolis, Austin from Home Free, and (I'm guessing) Lee Greenwood were in Nashville. This will always be an amazing, patriotic song for the US. However, you must give everyone participating in this amazing version (and their mixers) much credit because this was recorded during quarantine. In fact, Home Free did many songs when the world was in quarantine. This song is amazing, but the fact that it was recorded in four cities during quarantine makes it so much more amazing!

What a wonderful collaboration from Home Free with Lee Greenwood and The United States Air Force band. One by one such beautiful voices which match so well with the voices of Home Free. The fact that Lee Greenwood remains the center of attention I think shows a lot of respect for this great singer. But Adam Rupp tops it off with his incredible beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds. He is inhuman.❤️ Home Free is the best a-cappella group.

Me too Friend! There was no war or conflict at the time. Lee just felt compelled to write and sing it. Amazing how one voice could Awaken the spirit of our Country. '87 I was in bootcamp and on Sundays you could leave your " house " ( Barracks) to attend Church. They would either play this song or sometimes a woman with an AMAZING voice would sing it. We sang along, I could never get thru it without choking up. It hit home just how BLESSED we are to be Americans. I cannot finish this post without whole heartedly thanking our Allies who served BRAVELY along side us over the years! ESPECIALLY after 9/11. When we where dropped to one knee from that terrorist blow, you stood beside us ! I thank you and Salute you all!

Lee Greenwood was 77 years old when he cut this video. He still has the pipes! Because he was working with such an accomplished group of singers, the Home Free guys encouraged him to stretch his vocal performance. That's where he did the key changes and all the runs and ad libs. I think it was awesome that they featured him in the song. Home free is quite generous that way.

Kathy here - Lee Greenwood wrote this back in the 80's and was really great. Then, the first baseball game after 9/11, he was asked to sing it at the game. And then now, you have this mix of singers in this one, and I think it's the best version I have ever heard. Thanks for your reaction. And yes, it should say Home Free, featuring Lee Greenwood and the US Army Choir. And it is completely Acca Pello .

Kabir - Home Free is a great group. Lee sounded great for 75! Home Free minus Lee and the soldiers had done the song earlier in front of Mt. Rushmore. Lee wanted to do it again. So he got together with Home Free and they enlisted the US Air Force Singing Sergeants (everyone in uniform). This was during Covid so they all gathered in different cities to do it. Adam (Home Free’s beatboxer) was doing drums and then a jet at the end. Incredible song! Thank you for doing it!🥰

Several years ago a dear friend of mine who was a disabled Marine, wanted to go see Lee Greenwood in concert. We were able to sit on the front row where he could be comfortable in his wheelchair which was covered in Marine stickers. When Lee sang this song as his encore he walked over to our side of the stage and saluted my friend. Unfortunately my friend was not able to salute him back. My friend has been gone for quite some time now but every time I hear this song I’m flooded with precious memories and of a gentleman who respected not only my friend but all servicemen and women.

So this was a song from Home Free the acappella group that had previously covered this song but decided to do this special version where they managed to get Lee Greenwood, the writer and original performer of the song to do it with them. Then they also added the military singers on it as well making it even more special. Lee was the man that sang first...the 5 guys in plain clothes are the group Home Free and of course the soldiers in camo. This was also recorded during the pandemic which is why it was recorded in the various different locations and then edited together.

So I absolutely love seeing new reactions to Pentatonix' Hallelujah & The Prayer. And most or at least half of Home Free's catalogue. So my preference is definitely Home Free. But I absolutely love Pentatonix ' performance & arrangement of the 2 I mentioned. Sound of Silence & Bohemian Rhapsody by Pentatonix is good too. Home Free I recommend reacting to Man Of Constant Sorrow, Country Fied Pop, The Butts Remix Medley, Ring Of Fire, Hill Billy Bone, Folsom Prison Blues, Traveling Soldier, Honey I'm Good, Wake Me Up(?), May Day, Brothers In Arms, their collaboration with The Oakridge Boys "Elvira", & with Kenny Rogers "Children Go Where I send Thee".

He was born in 1933, just 1 of 12 children, in the coal camps in NW Virginia.. Lied at 17 to join the Air Force. (He was tired of being hungry, sleeping 6 to a bed and someone would always pee. They were always hungry😢, barefoot, EVEN WORSE, Etc…. So he joined. Now there is only Dad and 1 sister left… The baby brother of the family died July 4th. He has always made a good living for us kids and (my Mom), his wife … (If she were still here, they would have been married for over 60 years.) ❤🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸 Thank you Dad for your service in the Air Force!

And I think having all the soldiers singing with him almost made it better (but I’m still gonna listen to the original alone in my car with the windows closed and the volume up). And I thought it was ironic when you said that a lot of good people have come from America. When the whole point of America is that we are people who come from everywhere. ☺️ Good video! God bless the USA. 🙏🏼🇺🇸🗽

This is my favorite song, no matter what version that plays, but this one from Home Free, Lee Greenwood and the Air Force singers is the best version in my opinion.

Also remember that this remix was done during lockdown 2020.... So they couldn't feed off the other artists 'energy to get the performances.

They aren't soldiers, they are Air Force, which makes the Airmen. Soldiers are Army. But this is a great song.

Half the song is sung by Home Free. All of it's percussion is Home Free. Lee Greenwood is 76 in this video, FWIW.
