After being put up on the hood of the car, both told to go away and pushed away, the "chief" should've been arrested. Public intox, suspected DWI, assault on a police officer without violence, and interfering with a police investigation. And if he was armed...?Hooooo BOY!!! That's a whole other series of charges.

There have been people in my line of work that have had issues with alcoholism and it was handled the same way, they're given the option to retire or be fired. They don't call the cops and have them arrested and ruin their life. I think it's the right way to handle it. As people we put in a lot of hard hours year after year at work. You don't want to erase all the work that someone has put in for 30 years and ruin their life because they made a mistake or suffer from alcoholism.

I have a VERY dim view of "law enforcement" these days. "No need to ruin his life"!? Like he's done to countless others, you mean? Handle your shit, but do it in private. Otherwise, you get exactly what you have coming to you.@@Sandman60077

Chief retired early with full pay retirement. The REAL issue is NOT ONE Officer on scene had the BALLS to uphold the LAW because it was the chief. Ask yourself what would have happened to ANY drunk citizen had walked up to scene and put hands on a officer.

This happens in every line of work. We had a guy at my job who was an alcoholic, he'd show up drunk, drink on the job, and eventually it got so bad that they gave him the option to retire or be fired. He chose to retire and got to keep his benefits and pension. Which is good, he was a good guy who put in 30 years with the company, he just had a problem with alcohol. We can't fire and take away pensions from everyone who has issues with drinking or getting high. If we did there would be a LOT of people on the streets.

The police chief should have been arrested, Public intoxicated and how did he get there , if he was driving that's another charge , if the chief was to get in a car and drove off and killed someone those officers would be in trouble, wasn't the first and probably wasn't the second or third time either, drunk people can be very hard headed. Sounded like the police chief is an alcoholic so he had to go before he brought major shame on the rest of the police department.

Not bad punishment, Paid leave of 202k a yr and now hes retired full pension living a good life 🤔 crazy how police have so much insulation from consequences. Im sure he served his community well for a time and maybe even saved lives but there is no other profession with that kind of protection

Reminds me of the time we got a new boss at the city water plant I was working at. I completely loved my job, was going to school for my water treatment and distribution license, got almost all customer complaints and work orders done before he even showed up for work and got my walking meter readings done on the whole town in only 2 1/2 days. He was threatened and fired me because of it.

God forbid if either of those two were women. Billina: "Why can't she just talk to the chief? He's the boss! God their pride is too much! Now she attacks him? Get women off the force now!" Chief: "Why she gotta nag over a gd jacket when the man's working? Now she's suspending him when she grabbed him first? If roles were reversed!" Holy cow if both were women! The comments wouldn't be 22,064; they'd be 220,640.

He showed up drunk “again” and obstructed a DWI… And then goes up and touches him, can’t do that. The cop returned to duty and the Chief “resigned” early. (It was an ultimatum) resign, or you will be fired scenario.

BS! Did we watch the same video? Chief already embarrassed him and the Sgt walked away. It was the drunken hands-on by the chief (3x) that set it off. K-9 officer, Sgt. William Major still has his job.

@@carmenmonoxide7459 Yeah, I guess we watched different videos. The chief did not go hands-on three times. The Sgt. didn't want to be dressed down in front of his colleagues and over reacted. I saw the chief try to grab the Sgt.'s arm once and the Sgt acted way over the top. The fact that the chief retired and the Sgt. is still on the force doesn't change the facts. The Sgt. is lucky to still have a job.

@@kevinbrown-ge6szI'm usually one to give cops the benefit of the doubt but not on this one lol. Chief was out of line and Sgt did exactly what anyone should do in a situation similar. Especially since all the cops now have body cams. Clearly higher ups saw something different because Chief got let go with early retirement and the Sgt is back on the force after getting some time off

@@Jimbow-sz9kh No, that was excessive force used by the Sgt. That gets you fired anywhere else but on a police force. I'm not saying the chief was without fault. If the chief was forced to retire it was because he was drunk, not because of anything he may have said or done in the video.
