After searching Avios reward availability we used up an existing American Express 2for1 voucher and what little Avios we had left to fly from London Gatwick to the beautiful and underrated city of Turin with British Airways onboard the Airbus A320. The reason the windows go up and not down on the exit row is simply because there's no room for it to come from the top! The over-wing doors aren't the biggest and so the latching mechanism for the door sits where the blind would usually stow away into. Loved the video, and what a deal to get all that for £2!!

I've only had the pleasure of doing the LGW BA lounge once (October 22, LGW-GLA) when I held Sapphire Status, I opted to fly to Glasgow from Gatwick solely to experience the LGW BA lounge and it was a good experience. Another enjoyable flight review!

@@liftoffandtravel The LHR T5 lounges are nicer, but get often crowded. The LGW lounge seemed a bit quieter on my visit. The T3 BA lounge seemed average.

Good video - its very annoying that BA no longer fly from LGW to FNC which they did for two decades before the pandemic. I don't like LHR and it takes me 3 hours to get home from that airport.

Thanks Michael 😁 Agreed LHR can be long, luckily it's closer than LGW for us. We prefer LGW though. Was that during the shake up? Used to like that Barcelona was from T3

Cheers speed bird 🍻 we love Gatwick. Such a relaxed experience. At least at the south terminal anyway.... I think you're right but it's been a long time since we made this one. Where abouts did I ask what the mystery plane was 🤔✈️

@@liftoffandtravel I have flown extensively from LGW and LHR but much prefer LHR to be honest (with a far better selection of lounges). The 'mystery plane' 8:48 - the sleek, swept-back wingtips suggest it's a 787 :)

If you have status, not worth it tbh (but very good food!). And agreed about the t5 lounge's hospital feeling...
