Great vlog - BA seem to have upped their game in the premium cabins atm? The digital window blinds seem good until the crew decide you've had enough and shut them all centrally - look forward to the next!

I have my own very private and personal expierence with BA. I only flew 4 times with them. The first time was in 1970 when i was 5. We flew Stuttgart/Berlin with BEA Bac Super 1-11. That was my very first flight with my grandpa sitting next to me. He was a navigator in ww2 on board of the Junkers 52. My other flights were Berlin/London ( 767 Chelsea Rose ) London/Berlin ( 757 Glamis Castle ) and London/Toronto and back in 1987 Boeing 747-200.

Your first flight was actually not with B.A. (Then known as BOAC) as BEA were a separate airline that merged with B.A. in 1974. My first flight with BOAC was 1972 Sydney to London via U.S.A. I can’t remember all the details but I loved every moment including the layover in L.A. where I was given a hotel room to rest and shower and dinner in the restaurant as I think it was for around 6 hours. The days of real service and I wasn’t paying full fare as I was under 21.😁

A great and detailed blog as always well done. As I used to work for BA am still very proud of the service the airline offers. After covic peoples perception of travel changed, no longer was it enjoyable but looked upon as a annoying task to be completed to get to your destination. Obviously going First is a big incentive, and thank you for showing the whole “package” ie the special area for check in and the outstanding Concorde room which is like dining in a first class hotel as you get to enjoy pampering as its best then the second part of the First package Ie onboard where space luxury and the enjoyment of enjoying the best of everything is available to you where service From the specially trained crew is available throughout the flight, what wasn’t shown was the first class bed. No am not a “fan boy” but someone who truly recognises the strides the airline makes to reward their premium passengers. Both on the ground and in the air

Though I’ve now switched to KLM/AF, just to let you know that I never had any issues with B.A’s service. Always attentive and polite, in fact on some occasions I would rate the service as outstanding. One issue that did let the team down was when checking in at Heathrow T5 in the special 1sr class section I was not advised about the Concord Lounge which was certainly an oversight on behalf of the staff member. Not a big deal but that should not have happened.

Definitely an oversight on the person checking you in who should have advised you of all the different “perks” available and the wonderful Concorde room being one of them. Hopefully you will get a chance in the future to use BA again and once again apologies for the mistake

@@InflightWithJames Fortunately it was no big deal as I only had a short wait before boarding, however when you’re paying for First this oversight shouldn’t happen but of course we are human and mistakes do happen. . As I said above I’ve always received excellent service with B.A. on my regular long haul in Business Class.

The bus was group 1, pre boarders and I guess a few from group 2 and 3. It wasn’t a separate bus for first, that’s for sure.

I use both business and First . Personally prefer business for the price not a lot in it. Service far better and personal than any Middle East airlines bar Singapore. A new business and first is to be rolled out shortly cannot wait .

The Concorde Room looks great and offers good food, drinks and view. However, the bus boarding for First Class Passengers is a no go!!! BA should provide limousine service as Lufthansa does for First Class passengers. I also miss caviar service on board and the seats need doors, maybe BA can change this soon to further enhance the First Class experience.😀

The newest pair of 777’s do have doors, however I don’t think this is scheduled to be rolled out to the rest of the fleet. Rumour has it that an entirely new first product will be rolled out in the next couple of years. The A380’s will be first to be fitted when they have the Club Suite installed.

nice video, but: well, Britannia no longer rules the waves after Brexit and the loss of the Concorde: cheap charter transport by bus to the plane instead of a private limousine, a BC cabin with ditto catering without caviar service, etc.

I once upgraded to First on my usual long haul B.A. flight ( I had points I could use). Decent enough but I wouldn’t pay the extra in cash as the experience wasn’t that much better than Business. I use Air France now and their business class is almost the same as B.A. First.

All looks so cheap-n-nasty. First Class? I don’t think so. No better than Biz class service and product that SQ, QR, EK, CX, etc, have been offering for a decade or so, at one-third of BA’s price. Who on earth would waste their money on this when they are proper airlines, with properly trained crew and quality products, available for so much less cost. The one and only reason to fly BA from or to the UK, since the early 2000s, is if you need a direct non-stop long haul flight and the destination / origination carrier is even worse than BA - e.g. from Africa, South America, Bangladesh, etc,

Clearly you don’t fly with other airlines much . Cathay Emirates and Qatar are no better in fact standards down hill. The only one beating VA is Singapore .
