I loved Married With Children growing up. It is definitely not about a shoe store lol. That's just where Al works. The majority of the show takes place in their house, and Al is usually the punch line. Congratulations on the baby btw 🎉

There is an episode where Al is in a store to buy Peg an anniversary gift. Another customer is there also to buy a gift for his first anniversary. He chooses a cheap picture frame explaining that they want to save their money for more important things. Al then tells him, "There is nothing more important than your anniversary" He then goes on to explain how it's just between the two of you etc. Anyway it's very heartfelt and wise

The show is about Al Bundy & his family (wife & 2 kids). His neighbors, a married couple, are a big part of the series also. They do show a lot of scenes in the shoe store where he works tho. Love this show. I just rewatched the entire series not that long ago.

One of my favorite episodes is when "Santa" was parachuting into an appearance at a new mall and his chute didn't open, sending him plummeting into the Bundy's back yard. This should give you an idea of what this series was like.

These 'Best Of' Married With Children clips don't do the show justice. The full episodes are hilarious. There's a two part episode where the Bundy's go to England for the first time. I recommend it.

Married with children is the bizzaro(superman) of other family sitcoms. It's the complete opposite of every other family sitcom that was on TV at the time. Hilarious show, the witty jokes are just icing on the cake of chaos that is the bundies.

Married with children was a great comedy in the 80s, all the shoe store scenes were not every week episodes. The show was on for years and it was a great comedy. America could still laugh at it's self then.

This isn't the whole show it's about the wife and kids too. They're all like this in their own way. You don't mess with the Bundy's they always get even. It's was a huge show back in the 90's. It's funny when they roast everyone.

I would suggest checking out a full episode or two. Not all of the jokes were fat jokes. There are many fat jokes and this shows a lot of them. There are also many jokes that are put downs of Al, and many jokes centered around his children not living up to his expectations. The pacing of a full show will make it more worthwhile. Still a fun reaction.

The show mostly takes place in the family home. It will have some clips in the "Mall" at a cheep shoe store where he makes a low wage. Hardly make a living. Wife, Peg ...Daughter,Kelly... Son,Bud. Neighbors he makes fun of.

I wish you could see the regular program. There were two children and Peg was his wife. It was so funny. Al had to take as much as he gave.

This is just the shoe store sections when he's at work...most of the show takes place at their home and it's just as funny. There are some episodes that also take place in other locations but that's much less common.

This show ran for many years it's about a dysfunctional family. Shoe store scenes were a small part over 12 or 15 years of TV. A rare show still funny in reruns over and over.

I grew up watching Married with Children. My favorite is Reverend Al and Church of No Ma'am.

You really need to watch some full episodes to get the whole premise of the show. These are just small snippets. Usually the show takes place at Bundy's house and in many cases Al is the one who is the butt of the jokes and snarky remarks.

The series is fun. It grows over the seasons to be the legend it is today. If you're going to watch it, I'd recommend starting at the beginning rather than watching a best-of or viewer recommendations

Guys, the show lasted 11 years. This is just a small representation of one specific type of comedy the show had over it's run so don't go thinking it's all fat jokes ... I'd say they take up about 30-60 seconds average per episode. The show is about seeing the life of that low-life family you wouldn't want living next door, the older married couple Al and Peg Bundy with their son Bud and daughter Kelly. Best Doggo, Buck, also gets in on the comedy as well at times as do Al's friends and the next store newlywed neighbors (who often play the foils to the Bundy family). The show was tons of fun. You never knew what would be coming next in the storyline, it took chances no other show would at the time. It's why numerous parents groups tried getting the show taken off the air only to see the show grow and excel thanks to the added attention. When it left tv it wasn't due to the ratings or really any other reason besides the cast deciding the show ran its course and they wanted to try their hands at other things.

Yeah, we had a decent amount of insult comedies back in the 90’s. Like Mad T.V. And In Living Color. Speaking of In Living Color. If you check out some clips, you might recognize a few of their cast members. Some of them went on to a successful career in movies and one of them (in a very small part of the show) in the music industry. Edit: Jenny Craig was a weight loss program like Weight Watchers.

A few episodes revovled completely around the store. A lot of episodes didn't have the shoe store at all. There is more to it to Married With Children then fat jokes and shoe stores. You guys should look up " Brilliant Bud Moments. Married With Children." It gives you a glimpse of the whole family and it's hilarious.

I'm not usually a fan of American comedy, it is usually over the top, overacted and terribly un-funny, this however does not apply to Married With Children, this had me in stitches of laughter every episode. I grew up with British humor on TV and loved the sarcastic wit of the brits, but Al bundy also captured that so well, it was hilarious. Yes it was offensive, but only if you let it offend you. I'm a bigger person and never once took offense at the jokes, as they were really funny. You're watching a compilation of specific fat jokes so it might appear to be a lot and as if the show was all about them, but it was not. It was about being married with children and the life sucking constant wallet breaking conundrum of having to deal with a wife, kids and his neighbors. But overall Al loves his family and will do anything to protect them which he demonstrates many times, then berates them immediately after for making his life hell. Brilliantly written and acted by all the cast, except Steve (there's always an exception). there are dozens of catchphrases that still resonate today. It's sad that a show like this would not be tolerated today, as many are just so easily offended and instead of simply not watching they instead have to cry to everyone about how offended they are for someone else.

Love the show I have the entire series on my media server. Its to bad people are overly soft nowadays. Shows like this were all over the place in the 80's and 90's before people started getting offended about everything.
