I don't know if they still do it, but when I was stationed at Osan AB in South Korea, if you won "airman of the year" you had the choice of a $500 bonus (A lot of money at the time) or you could do a "fly along" in an F-16 jet. I won it and chose the fly along. My friends thought I was crazy for passing up the money, but it was worth it to me. It only lasted about 30 minutes, but it was one the most amazing things I have ever done in my life!

The US Army has only 6200 M1 Abrams tanks. Sounds small compared to others until you realize that the M1A1 Abrams can fire will moving ... accurately and while moving at 42 MPH ... making it one of very few that can do such a thing and no one else has nearly 6200 of them! One of the reasons the Iraqi army with their relatively recent Russian tanks stood no chance. Not to mention that this beast of a tank also shoots self-sharpening, armor penetrating depleted uranium rounds.

I have to fact-check the video. NOWHERE in the Constitution of the United States does the phrase "Army of the United States" appear, unless you count "Army and Navy of the United States," which appears in Article II, section 2. The Constitution doesn't even authorize the maintenance of a standing army, only the Navy and MILITIA (Article I, section 8). An army can be raised; if it is, it wouldn't not be referred as the "Army of the United States," because that's what it is. Basically, the way they said it, they made it sound as if our Constitution created the Army and Navy. They were, in fact, created by Acts of Congress.

Logistics. Logistics. Logistics. Everyone forgets about that part of the US military. They have caches everywhere on the planet. There are layers upon layers of transportation systems and solutions to get anything and everything everywhere. In the early 1980's, Great Britain had to scratch everything together just to drop one bomb on one runway at the bottom of the Atlantic by comparison. They were barely able to do it.

Something I do not know the answer to, but something to think about and try to guess as well is, if you took out all the electrical wiring in every single US Military item (vehicles, planes, ships, weapons, satellites, radars, bases, etc) and connected them all together; exactly how far into space would it reach or how many times could it circle the planet? Now also repeat this kind of thought experiment with other nations militaries and you'll see a huge difference. I'm not saying the length of cable means bigger and better army, it just means that that nation has more resources they're using. The US would be huge, but stack them with NATO, I'm sure we're going to Pluto and back a couple times, good gravy.

Don't forget about Coast Guard & Space Force

You also have the space force (no one in the other military branches will admit they are real) and the coast guard. The Coast Guard is mostly a defensive force and search and rescue, but they do have the resources to take on drug cartels.

A lot of “USA military big” videos get put into perspective if you think of The United States as a Union of 50 small countries with an Average population of 5.7 million people each. If you added all of Europe’s military forces together, It’s kind of like being surprised that Europe has a lot of military. It’s the resources of almost an entire continent working together.

This video is old. First the Marine Corps divested all of their tanks and tube artillery in favor of mobile rocket systems. Second, the Navy does not have any frigates or corvettes, they are in the early stages of building their first frigates since the Perry class was decommissioned in the early 2000s. The Army also does not have no where near 1,000,000 personnel. The facts in the video was on about 50% correct.

Our greatest president, Abraham Lincoln, got it right 160 years ago when he said: "Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide." There is a note of caution in that true quote that more people here should be aware of.
