What's your favourite BABYMETAL or BMTH song?

Good one - and as you said, they have been good friends for the last 6 or so years since first meeting at a festival in the UK where they were both playing and BMTH taking BABYMETAL under their wing to do what they could to make them feel welcome and at home. There is a great picture of Oli meeting the girls (for the first time? Not sure) wearing one of their t-shirts - you can almost hear Su, Yui and Moa saying Whoaaa and laughing.

Honestly, BABYMETAL feels like everyone’s little sisters. I am 18 and I feel like they are my little sisters. It may be because their earlier songs were about not bullying, being confident, and taking men’s ego down (Sis. Anger). Plus, they fangirl about every American artist and I love. From meeting Billie Eilish to being cheered on, during their performance, by Lady Gaga, everyone loves these girls. I just hope that they can continue making music because by the way they make it sound, they aren’t coming back. They deserve a long break and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for The One.

Love this song and MV. Interesting what you had to say about BMTH's past and why they're friends with Babymetal and very interesting too about how and why 'Kingslayer' came to be made. I'm a huge Babymetal fan but had never heard of BMTH before this (sorry, I know how painful that can sound to a big fan...I get the same feeling when I'm trying to get across the brilliance of Babymetal and Band-Maid and Lovebites to others!). I thought I'd check out that song Ludyens you mentioned and...wow, that's a damn fine song. I'll be checking more of their stuff out thanks to your tip, so cheers for that. Su's part on 'Kingslayer' has been my ringtone for months and people are starting to ask why it always takes me longer now to answer the phone. Apparently "Because it's a 20 second clip on repeat and I have to listen to it at least once" isn't a reasonable excuse. 🦊🤘🤘🦊

Happy for you that you got the chance to see BMTH live this year! Great reaction as usual, so keep em coming! BMTH and BM are close friends since they first met at a festival in the UK and Oli was wearing their shirts on a couple of occasions which was great to see. Oli said that he went even harder on the song to make the contrast between Su’s vocals and his screams more apparent and also asked BM to submit their vocals in Japanese rather than English. Btw Moa has some backup lines in the song, it is not just Su :)

About the Babymetal Hiatus I saw this comment on another video and thought would share it here. About the hiatus, Koba explained this topic in an interview for Young Guitar magazine, November 2021 (credits to funnytoss): Kobametal: "(...) After that, the world found itself in a difficult situation. Thankfully, we were still able to hold the 10 planned performances at the Nippon Budokan, without cancellation or postponement, thanks to everyone’s cooperation and support. Thus from BABYMETAL’s point of view, everything was still proceeding largely as planned. So at the end of the Budokan concert the other day, when we announced that BABYMETAL would be leaving the earth and going away, it was like the finale of Season 1 or Season 2 like you see in foreign television series. However, as this uncertain situation continues, there are still fans that might be expecting more shows to come soon, so rather than keep them in limbo, we decided it was better to make an additional special announcement out of respect, which was that we’d be taking a break from live performances for a while. This is rather rare for BABYMETAL to do. If the circumstances were more normal, it’s likely we wouldn’t have made this announcement. It goes back to what I was saying earlier about “half real, half fantasy”. Some fans tend to interpret BABYMETAL’s actions in a very dramatic way. But in reality, there are many things that “Only the FOX GOD knows”, so I think it’s better if everyone accepts that this is a story that has to balance between reality and fantasy."

BABYMETAL is the reason I started learning Japanese too. I don’t know much, but one thing I think I know is that when BABYMETAL ends, everyone will know it in advance…BMTH is a band I’d like to like more than I do… I’ll look at the umbrella album… and Ludens… which I think (at least a version of) is on the Post Human album.

👑 🗡 I haven't been the biggest Bring Me the Horizon fan in the past, but I really liked the whole 'POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR' album. They've both done a great job of promoting the other band to their fanbases. That's pretty cool. The haters can just go ahead and be mad at BMTH and BABYMETAL simultaneously, which probably saves time. : ) This was probably the best collaboration of 2020.

Two very talented bands, that sound amazing together. Such a cool thing that they did for Babymetal. Amy Lee did a similar thing for Lindsey Stirling, just after she was cut from America's Got Talent, from what I've heard. I know Lindsey opened for Evanescence, and they performed a few songs together, including a time where Amy Lee was dressed as a Wookie.

I was at the Sheffield gig aswell in September, travelled all the way from Newcastle and would do it again in a heartbeat, all 3 bands were great, Nova Twins, You me at six and BMTH , can't wait to see them again

Great review and points I hadn't known. Didn't know that they had such a collaborative relationship when each other were in their respective regions. I love this album especially because they got Mick Gordon to help with additional production on several songs. His work in Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal are delights for the brain and it shows on this album as well.

A Japanese band that really blows my mind is the Wagakki band. Very unique blend of popular western music genres that we all love and enjoy mixed with traditional Japanese folk music.

I’m late to suggesting something, but I know you’ll love my suggestion. Did you know that there were multiple covers of “Hypa Hypa” and they were done by diffferent artists…and I mean ALL genres? There are 7 approved covers on their latest album. Rap, Country, Classical, Deathcore, whatever; the boys worked with each artist that made a cover and then made a hilarious music video with them. I think you’ll enjoy most if not all of them. My favorite cover was done by WBTBWB. Looking forward to see what you think.

I’ve only been listening to BMTH since the start of this year, and I definitely prefer their later work. I don’t really listen to Baby Metal, but this was awesome, so I think I might have to. Love that they’re the reason behind Shan learning Japanese. Maybe we’ll get a full reaction in Japanese at some point.
