3:05 Aidan is correct, the G-league is comparable to the minor leagues is baseball. Where new or unproven basketball players play as they make it up to the league. Every team has a G-league team they pull from when the players play well.

while thats true, no top picks are ever sent to the G-league first. Where as in baseball, no player drafted ever goes straight to the MLB. G-league is more of a try out league for international leagues than the NBA itself 95% of the time

@@paytonmarlow3639 That is true. Players will go from Rookie league to AA then to Major league. That's the usual route anyways if you're a good player.

I live about 6 minutes from the Bills stadium. They visited Tottenham and the Bills owner said build me this. We’re also not happy with the size of the Buffalo statues in the rendering. We’re petitioning for making them fucking huge. Even if we built a dome we wouldn’t be able to have a Super Bowl because of the surrounding area not having enough hotel rooms.

Beckham has owned the right to an expansion team since 2014, but Inter Miami itself became a thing in 2018, and they first started playing in 2020.

You've toured future stadiums, the MLS and one college football conference. (Btw, the Pac-12 has the best looking stadiums and settings, although they're not huge in size.) How about the NFL and MLB? (Maybe even NBA, NHL and race tracks.)

NBA G-league or Gatorade league, formerly known as the D-league (developmental league) is where players go who are not quite NBA level but have potential to be so. Some players opt to go play professionally in other countries as well if their NBA time is up.

As a titans fan my first reaction to our new stadium is it looks more like an apple or Amazon office complex covered in LEDs than a football stadium. But the record player and playstation comparisons are good and funny as well.

Promotion-Relegation just isn't possible in MLS for several reasons; the biggest one being logistics. No teams outside of MLS can afford the travel costs of an MLS schedule. It' not like the EPL where teams can just take buses to all of their matches. Cross-country flights have to be charted for east coast and west coast teams to play each other.

So in regards to Sacramento Republic FC, they play in the city of Sacramento (which is the Capital of California) and in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship, which is our second tier pro league for soccer/football. They have attempted to move up into the MLS, but to no avail. Unfortunately for them, it won't be happening anytime soon, especially since back in May, the MLS announced they will be expanding to San Diego, which is a much bigger and more attractive city/market in California, with the team expected to begin play in 2025. The way the pyramid here in the U.S. is set up is as follows: Tier 1: MLS Tier 2: USL Championship Tier 3: USL League 1, MLS Next Pro, and the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) Tier 4 features semi-professional leagues such as USL League 2 and the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Teams from all 4 tiers as well any other lower division leagues play in the U.S. Open Cup, which is our domestic cup, like you guys in England have with the FA Cup. Hopes this helps clear up any confusion on how our pyramid here looks like!

Sacramento is building Railyards Stadium MLS or no. We may not be MLS, but we knocked three MLS sides out of the US Open Cup. USL, the league SRFC is in, is rumored to get pro/rel within a few years.

I'm a bit surprised Buffalo opted against the EFTE roof, but I suppose they wanted to keep the home field advantage playing in snow. Once the new Titans stadium is done they'll be hosting a superbowl right off the bat, Nashville is perfect for it
@robtintelnot9107

Cleveland has the same problem. They are completely rebuilding the stadium and it'll take a few years. We want a dome but they want to keep the cold weather advantage.
@cypher515
@cypher515 Жыл бұрын
Buffalo is nowhere near having enough hotel rooms for a Super Bowl, or even a WrestleMania, so they figured they may as well save the money for the roof. Seriously, $1.4 billion as it is for the stadium, and possibly only 60 thousand seats as opposed to 65 as FivePoints here said? I'd bet any roof would put it in the 2 billion category, and they had enough trouble getting funding as it is.

That stadium in Vegas may be built, but I’m not 100% the team playing there will be the A’s as of right now. There’s just so much more money to be made with the plan Oakland has brought forth and is much further along than the A’s or MLB would lead you to believe. Oakland has an environmental impact report, MORE than what the A’s are asking for in public funding, and land that in Oakland that is worth more than the measly NINE ACRES they’re trying to build on in Las Vegas. EDIT: the legislation passed doesn’t even peg the A’s as being the team to play in the stadium being built. It says “an MLB team” My guess is the A’s owners are going to take this Vegas thing as far as they can in the hope that some Silicon Valley billionaire with nothing better to do offers WAYYY more than the team is worth. If that happens, MLB will expand to Vegas. If it doesn’t, the A’s move to Las Vegas.

There isn't really any academy system in any pro sport in the US the way there is like European football. In baseball, rookies are drafted then play in single A, double A or Triple A in the major league team's affiliate. But in most cases they have to be drafted by the pro team. So a team can draft a kid out of highschool and he'll spend a few years in the minors before working their way to the majors if they're good enough. Baseball teams will draft the rights to a highschool player then he can go play college football and have the option of choosing between MLB and NFL. Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, John Elway are just a few players that were drafted by Baseball teams but chose the NFL

It’ll never happen in MLS because of the ludicrous expansion fee’s. The only hope of pro/rel in America is with USL. If USL gets big enough, I could see MLS buying/merging with USL and somehow recuperating owners for expansion fees either with league revenue or some other fancy thing

I'm from Jacksonville and I actually played a youth football (11 year olds) championship game in the old stadium in Jacksonville in 1983. ...I've seen all of the changes to that stadium over the years. The new stadium rendition looks great. ...Aiden's idea of relegation in American sports is good. Except the current American system of a draft and revenue sharing amongst a set number of teams in a league each year allows for more even competition amongst all teams in the league. All teams share their revenues and have the same amount of money to pay for players.

Actually, the MLS gets thousands more fans under the current system because more teams are competitive every year. Under the relegation system, only the same 3 or 4 teams are competitive each year because they earn and keep all of the big money.

There isnt an academy for "youth" players like in football (soccer). You go to high school, play for the highschool team, then essentially get scouted to play for a university, then to the draft. This system definitely limits development at a younger age which is why we are seeing so many European players succeeding in north america. In america, you're essentially only playing other players the same age as you, so if youre good for your age then you're not really going to learn anything. Whereas in europe you can be playing against grown adults requiring you to have good fundamentals to compete. In my opinion the American university drafting system results in lower quality players on average and at the same time making obscene amounts of money on players that don't really get paid.
