On this upload we see a variety of classic BR traction in the London area, filmed at the end of 1993 and early 1994. We start on the line path at Potters Bar with a class 47 & 90 hauled charter trains heading Up to London along with an Inter-City 125 HST, a light engine class 47 and a class 317 EMU. Next we are in St Albans and see another HST plus a couple of class 319 Thameslink EMU's. Then it's another charter train, this time a top & tailed TC set at King's Cross, powered by a pair of class 33 Crompton diesel locomotives. And we finish at Stratford with a class 47 hauled Freightliner working and a class 33 on an engineers train. Yes, the foggy morning didn't aid visibility, and muffled the sound of trains approaching.....

0:33 a 47 on Royal duty?

There were a couple of peak hour workings on weekdays, Up to London in the morning, Down in the evening, The 47 loco hauled train seen at the start of this vid are on the East Coast route, at Potters Bar, and it was a charter service.....

@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus You are a wealth of knowledge and video. I used to live in Dunstable when i was a kid. Was kind of hoping they would restore the train line there, but they built a bus lane instead. Boooooooooooooooo!
