I mean if you need to go to somewhere like from Perth to Melbourne, for work or week holiday, you’d fly but if you want to see the country along the way and take your time, you’d drive.

Australia has 6 states and 2 territories, you can drive to all of them Except Tasmania which is the smallest state separated by the bass strait, just under the mainland. When you look at the Australian map you will see a little upside down triangle island beneath the mainland, that is Tasmania.

Many friends growing up in Melbourne would pack into the car with the family and drive to the Gold Coast for school holidays. Myself, I have driven from Melbourne to Uluru to Darwin for a holiday. Australians are not opposed to a 2-3 hour drive to drop in for lunch with a mate.

The cost of flights is not cheap like where you, when we lived in Cairns we drove to Brisbane, 17 hours. We made it easier by stopping twice for a nights stay. When I was a child we could get wizz fizz in a paper tube with a liquorice, you used the liquorice to get the wizz fizz.

I live in South Australia and it’s definitely a mix of the two for travel preference! Road trips are a huge thing here and we have a very popular route called the Great Ocean Road that goes all along the coast! Most of the time it’s cheaper to drive from Adelaide (where I live) to Melbourne because of petrol costs compared to flights!

I’m from Brisbane QLD, and I have to say domestic plane travel in Australia is VERY expensive - you often see people road tripping it around Australia. Plus, Australia does not have many domestic Airports (between 1 and 3 per state) so you can’t really travel via plane.

I'm from Adelaide, South Australia. When I was a young lad, we would regularly go on a picnic to Victor Harbour; when my dad would say this to his British workmates, they would look amazed that we would travel that far just for a picnic. Back in the 50's and early 60's, it would take well over an hour to drive there on a two lane road; nowadays, with expressways and road widening, it probably takes about half that time.

We have that 5 gum too in Germany, I remember at some point, when I was 15 or 16, it was new and everybody was totally obsessed with it. It was kind of cool or fancy to have them, especially since (for me at least) its a pit pricey for the few pieces you get compared to other brands. But the flavors are great. I recommend everyone do the drive at least once, there is so much to see and do and depending on the time of year it can be a real eye opener. From an Australian, we travel by plane. Flights are so much cheaper than fuel, accommodation stop overs, car maintenance and all other costs associated with the long drives. Also a lot of Australia is a desert without access to facilities (especially if travelling from the east to the west).

Sugar is different from country to country probably depending on climate. Also, in America, it used to be expensive because they had to import it from Mexico and the cocoa beans from places within the Caribbean. America's chocolate is also different because of the milk they use. Brands like Hershey's use UTC (Long Life Milk) to give longer shelf life which also makes it taste different. This is because they aren't as close to dairy farm suppliers.

Driving distances for trips - I live in East Texas, about 90 minutes from Louisiana border. If I were to drive from the LA/TX border, to Texas New Mexico border, it would take 14-16 hours, depending on how fast you drive, traffic, and how many times you have to stop. Lol. Ive done the drive to the top of Cape York, it took a couple of weeks. You cant really drive the trip straight through, particularly not if you want your vehicle to survive the trip. The road past Cooktown is incredibly corrugated and rough, its a seasonal dirt road which is only open during the dry season. Distance wise it might seem like a shorter trip but not something you'd want to do in reality.....besides, there are some awesome spots to stop and camp along the way and the journey is a big part of the fun of the trip. Apart from the novelty of being at the northern most point of the country there isnt a whole hell of a lot to do when you get there.

It's a good 3-3 1/2 day drive across Canada, and that's with no stops Our Marvelous Creations bars in Canada are portrait oriented as well We have a version of the sherbet in Canada called Lik'M'Aid. It comes with a candy stick to dip into the powder which you can eat after. It was a huge thing back in the late 80's early 90's when I was a kid.

Woah!!!! But that is so amazing you can drive it!! Funny ours are landscape then! The Lik'M'Aid sounds a lot like something we also had. Very popular also back in the 90's!!

Not looking through all the comments to see if anyone commented on Superstore.. the show just aired it's last episodes in America this year. I only started watching it months ago (pretty sure they brought out one season a year) and I've only got the last season to watch.

A tip for your mouth ulcers, a pinch of dry table salt on each one. Do not eat or drink, I do it right before bed. By morning they are lots better. Lay off the acidic food and drink for a day. You should be fit as a fiddle!

I'm from Newcastle in New South Wales (Australia). Flying is quicker and easier, but sometimes, depending how far you're travelling, a roadtrip can be probably more fun. Good company, good snacks, and good music are a must.

The reason Australian Cadbury chocolate tastes not as nice as the UK is due to the weather of all things. We don't get as much rain and our cows don't get to graze on such lovely green grass as yours. This makes our milk less creamy, if you tried our milk you would think it tastes so watery compared to yours. This makes the chocolate less rich and creamy. I was born in the UK and now live in Australia, it was one of the things I always hated growing up that Australian chocolate wasn't as good as the UK. Also Darrel Lee is pronounced like a barrel! I love your videos, keep up the great work!

That is so interesting. I would not have even thought about that but that is so true! Really can all stem from the weather!! Maybe i'll appreciate our rain more now 😂It's been a nightmare this May! Thank you so much Amy!

On the Tim Tams the sentence “ There is no substitute “ was originally an advertising slogan, “ There is no substitute for quality” . This referred to all of the Arnotts brand biscuits but has since been shortened and I believe is only now on the Tim Tams.

Wizz Fizz used to be in a bag with the top folded into a triangle and stuck down. It had a hollow tube of liquorice inside so you could suck the sherbet up through it. We also had sherbet cones with marshmallow tops that looked like ice cream. They also had a liquorice tube poking out of the marshmallow.

Kate sometimes mouth ulcers respond to a 2-3 day dosage of lysine. In the USA road trips are a thing due to the potential of roadside attractions. If you're limited on holiday/vacation time then air travel would be considered, but you would have to rent/taxi/Uber/Lyft to get around at you destination...so an additional cost.

I know i'm a month behind but I live near Sydney and i've only been as far as Surfer's Paradise, its about a 9-10 hour drive but we usually just take a plane because it takes an hour and it's fairly cheap flying around Australia.

You also must pass the ball within 3 seconds. I have seen Goal Shooters take a one step dunk; but then they were well over 6ft tall. I actually came across a video from 1937, and was amazed that the umpire threw the ball down at the centre pass; when my sister played netball, it was referred to as 7 aside basketball(1960's).
