At least in the US, from the 1860s-1920s it was very common for factory workers (particularly cigar makers) to pool their wages together to pay for one guy to play them all music or read to them while the rest worked. It’s in particular why cigar workers became so radicalized and led much of our Union movements, as they were all paying for one guy to either play music or read socialist agitprop to them all day.

That's 2000ths (two thousandths) of 1 inch. If you don't understand what that means, the easiest way to understand it is like this: Take a measurement of 1 (One) inch long and mark paper at Zero, and at One inch mark. Then, with your ultra sharpened pencil, 😉, between the Zero line and the One inch line, now divide that Inch into 1000 equal spaces ... Just imagine drawing all those little lines between where the Zero (beginning) is, and the one inch mark is. So you would end up with a measure drawn on your notebook paper ie: ZERO is first line on left - I'''''''''''''''''''''''''I One inch mark is on far right. Now, see all the little marks and equal spaces I've put in between the two ends? Imagine there's 1000 equal spaces. When this video says, "The coin is then stamped, cut and polished, to a precise measurement within "Two thousands of an inch". So here's the answer for you after this long explanation! **Since you're told the new coins thickness specs., which is 'Two thousandths of an inch", you NOW KNOW that when you look at the marked and divided lines drawn above, you KNOW that new coin is going to be the accurate thickness to within (2) of those little equal spaces drawn into the example, because those are 'One thousandths of an inch each! So, two thousandths is the width of two of those spaces combined. Now, if the example said, a thickness or tolerance of 5 (five thousandths of an inch)/ 5000ths, all that would then mean is, a thickness equal to 5 of the small 1000ths spaces added up together. Hopefully you know understand well enough, to get a good enough feel to now know what they're talking about!
