How come nobody realizes.. This song sums up her whole life.. The words, the symbolism.. The music industry and the media fucking ruined her life, she was depressed and stressed out her whole life and was constantly under pressure and control by the media and the big industry, she had no say in anything, she always tried to hint at her distress and play certain songs of hers with a message or shit, nobody cared, it was all "Britney is a psycho" and shit but no, she WASNT. The paparazzi and media made her out to be a crazy person and drove her to insanity so that they can make MONEY but Americans are so fucking ignorant that they DONT realize that money has to do with anything, they eat up everything they read and its pretty sad. Nobody else could have lasted a day in her shoes, if I was in that much personal and public stress in the negative light 24/7, my morals compromised with the music that the industry wants instead of what I want, my childhood taken away.. I would probably go insane, or kill myself. How fucking foolish people used to be, it's sad.

It's so weird to me... as a 10 year old all I thought when singing to this song on repeat was how catchy it was and how bomb she looked in the video and dance routines. But today reading the lyrics it's so obvious some of her songs were like a cry for help and her way of expressing her struggles and frustration in her life. It's so sad... I wish I knew the context when I was a kid :(

This song was written by Max Martin who is responsible for writing or co-writing 23 Billboard Hot 100 number-one songs. He has worked with Britney from the beginning, as well as The Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and many more. Even though this song seems to fit perfectly with what has happened and continues to happen to Britney, in truth it could have been written about any or all of the young singers/performers that he has worked with over the years. I'm sure he has seen more than his fair share of young people being used for the almighty dollar. It's not about protection or overprotection out of love or consideration for the artist.
