I order a big tub of madras or vindaloo sauce (depending on how they make it, madras can be made to vindaloo strength but with of a more 'sweetness' undertone which I like) with four chappati, four poppadoms, and mint sauce. what annoys me is the confidence with which non-indian people assert their opinions about the culture and the cuisine. Korma literally does originate from India. Indian food is not all about spice and heat and just because it's lacking in spice doesn't mean it's boring or bland. Rice and bread are eaten together especially on special occasions, don't you guys eat chip buttys lol. And poppadoms are literally eaten exactly as the guy described, usually broken and mixed into rice, didn't tristan see that on his trip to india lol

I thought everyone knew you had to mix the two together. I'll take a fork with me and eat a few chunks of meat until there's room to tip the rice into the curry container and stir the lot up together. Do these people serve a bowl of plain pasta next to a bowl of the sauce, eat the plain pasta and then drink the sauce I wonder? Close, they'll serve a plate of plain pasta with some sauce poured on top in just the centre of the plate.

Yeah Tikka Masala came from England. When the people that colonised India came back to Britain they missed Indian food so they got a Indian guy to make a North Indian dish so the chef made a curry and it was to spicy so he got canned tomato soup, Cream , and chicken tikka and mixed it together and the chicken tikka masala was born. (Btw this is the national dish of England and was created in the 1940’s)

Rarely do i see someone eat rice and bread with curry, unless it’s at a restaurant where there’s a lot of people at the table and a selection is laid out to share so everyone gets what they like or they can try each of everything. Typically where i live, at home we cook either rice with curry + whatever other dishes or bread with curry + whatever other dishes. These “other dishes” can be potato based though so its not really a double carb thing either, its just rice or bread is usually the “base” to your curry/dishes. I prefer roti with curry in the morning for breakfast while lunch and dinner is rice. Briyani only for friday or a weekend lunch because it makes me really really sleepy afterwards.

When we are young and out to impress ourselves, we think others watch and are so impressed - Vindaloo boy. The lad who ordered to Biryani - he has grown up well. He knows taste but Korma is a bit baby food for my pallet. Eating lamb shows me there is something happening in the woman's mouth. She has grown up with good food and textures. The man who has been to India, kudos fellah! I have not been, but with Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi & Sri Lankan friends - like you was taught to play with taste, see what you like and then introduce other tastes, side dishes. And you brought a pudding to the table. You sir are a good man, you like no flash, you enjoy conversation and can give good advice and be a shoulder to cry on - yet within a second would be up to protect someone you feel was being bullied. Enough bull shit from me, enjoyed the vlog. Please everyone, move away from the list of curries where you get the usual list of Friday night usuals. Look at chef's recommendations. Research the establishment you will be ordering. If it is Bangladeshi, look the food up. Kashmir - look the food up. Specialities are usually blob on. Thank you for a good vlog. I well invested myself in it & look forward to more of them. Cheers y'all.

By Indian food they mean the same five North Indian dishes that most South and North Eastern Indians don't even eat daily. In fact, a lot of people here only eat it when we go out occasionally. I'm so done with this being the representation of 'indian' food when there's so much more to it.

You guys in the comments, if they did something in a wrong technique, just tell them, teach them how it’s done exactly to actually get the most flavour out of the dishes. A lot of people in the world won’t know how to eat other people’s cultural food so it’s alright. ❤️ Also tbh the tastes of Indian dishes found in UK aren’t really authentic in taste therefore I usually don’t eat Indian takeaway, but rather just cook them 😄

I started eating Curry's when I was around 5. {I`m 70 now, yes I`m old} my father had Asian friends who showed him how to make Curry properly, and then at 15 I started going to Indian restaurants, so I think it`s fair to say that I have a lot of experience with Curry`s, and the fact is, over my time, the taste of curry's have changed, and not for the better, for instance Madras use to be a lot hotter, about the same as a Vindaloo to day, on tasting, first you would get the heat, followed by all these aromatic flavours, it was phenomenal, today`s Madras are bland in comparison, also Korma, use to be thicker creamier, and sweeter, and again more flavours, you could also tell which restaurant or Takeaway the Curry came from, as they would put their own spin on the dishes. today most Takeaways are more uniformed with their flavoured, and I would struggle to identify where it came from, I think Curry's today, and I`ve use the word before, they are bland in comparison to how they use to taste.
