NATO to back Ukraine as Biden faces growing pressure
Ukraine on Thursday urged NATO to lift restrictions on use of long-range weapons against targets in Russia, saying it would be "game-changer" in its war with Moscow, while China slammed NATO criticism of its support for Russia as biased and malicious.
NATO members issued a declaration in support of Ukraine at a summit in Washington on Wednesday, promising additional aid and pledging to support its "irreversible path" to NATO membership. NATO leaders will hold a two-hour session with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Thursday afternoon.

A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi suffered a "hard landing" on Sunday, Iranian state television reported, without immediately elaborating.
According to Tehran Times, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian was also present in the helicopter.
Raisi was traveling in Iran's East Azerbaijan province. State TV described the area of the incident happening as being near Jolfa, a city on the border with the nation of Azerbaijan, some 375 miles northwest of the Iranian capital, Tehran.
US does not support major Rafah ground operation: Blinken
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, reaffirming that Washington does not support a major military ground operation by Israel in Rafah, the State Department has said.
Earlier we reported that Shoukry told his counterpart that continued Israeli military operations in Gaza, and especially in Rafah, near the Strip’s border with Egypt, have “grave security risks”.

Israel says it is studying Hamas response to possible deal
The Israeli government has issued its first official remarks on Hamas’s response to a possible truce deal, stating that the group’s comments are being studied by all parties involved in the mediation process, but offering few details.
“Hamas’s reply has been conveyed by the Qatari mediator to the Mossad. Its details are being thoroughly evaluated by the officials involved in the negotiations,” a statement from Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, the Mossad, said on Tuesday, per the office of the prime minister.
