@@eleano29 She is certainly getting better. But, she consistently has the quickest car and has been losing on the starting line for years. Not downplaying her, just saying like it is. Elapsed time also has nothing to do with the driver, it is all on the tuner...

Wrap your head around this…the dude she beat dropped a cylinder a fraction of the way into the race. And still ran 5.2 second run. That’s so much faster than anything most of will ever drive!

@@rayb8976 isn't amazing that when I was reading Hot Rod magazine and listening to Sounds of the Drags on 33 LP records, the fuel cars would smoke the tires the entire length of the track and barely be in the 7s making 1000- 1200 HP . Some of the new factory race cars produce as much power and run well into the 7 sec range. Incredible!

It would not make it. Its geared to be at highest rpm of the engine at 1000 feet. To run 1320 they would re gear the car, it would be slower in the first 1000 to be able to stay together for 1320.

The setup wouldn't work for another 320 ft. Would probably flatten out or blow. Also the tires aren't rated over 340mph.

@@jacksonmehoff4963 Not true for nitro. The car makes more power than can already be put down. You are correct for all other classes though, especially prostock. In nitro it’s a combination of power and downforce to actually get the power down

pushing toward 340mph in just over 3 1/2 sec... and almost 300 in 1/8 mile... wow how long will it be before they change from 1000 ft to 1/8 mile ? Are they going as fast now at 1000 feet as they used to in 1/4 mile? What was the top speed record in the old 1/4 mile? Was it under 340mph?

Dom Lagana on September 9, 2017 ran the fastest top fuel 1/4 mile run at 4.485-second pass at 338.35 mph at a non sanctioned NHRA event. Lagana's 338.35 now eclipses the 337 mark established by Tony Schumacher, who clocked 337.58 MPH at Brainerd International Raceway way back in 2005.
