There is a lot of action in this video! Let me start be describing it this way...... I can now confirm that a locomotive parked in Berwyn can be seen from Hillside! That is how this all started with me spotting the headlight to the east of the CN Harrison Avenue grade crossing in Hillside Illinois. I thought I was seeing a parked headlight at 17th Avenue in Broadview, I see a lot of those, but when I got to Broadview the headlight was still further east. About that time I noticed a second headlight and being close to lunch time, I reasoned that at least one of the trains was the Addison Local. Sure enough, he roared by with a short string of cars. But, that other headlight had not yet moved. I decided to try moving a little more east to the DesPlaines River but after waiting ten minutes, I decided to gamble and get closer. I tracked the park train to a place that was just a few blocks east of Harlem Avenue. I was able to grab some clips of the parked power and then I moved ahead of it (just to the west) so that I could catch it in a more open area. At that time, a eastbound long freight came into view. As this is a double track main, I soon realized that this new train was going to block the original if it started up, which it did.... So, then I grabbed a few clips of the trains moving in opposite directions and there was even a DPU towards the end, and I thought this was the end..... Well, I doubled back on my tracks and headed up past 17th Avenue over at Broadview, and there was the tail end of that same train, parked, just west of 17th. I just assumed it was dropping odown onto the IHB and I drove north and south on 25th Avenue trying to find the front end. I finally figured out that the train never left for the IHB but rather had shut down just east of the Oak Ridge crossing in Hillside. I was driving back and could see the parked train on the rail viaducts over Roosevelt Road and Manheim Road. I was able to get ahead of the train and set up just west of Wolf Road (regular viewers know this spot well!) and after a few minutes the train that I missed in Berwyn made a magnificent appearance in Hillside. Now, that should have been enough for any day, but wouldn't you know, I was lucky enough to catch the Addison Local on its return through Hillside. I'm not sure how to count the trains in this video...? It's either 3, 4, or 5, you watch and decide!
