I also don't understand it. I have to admit that after Steve Young retired I started pulling for Kurt Warner. I don't remember Kurt getting the flack that Brock has been getting, even though their stories are similar. Maybe if the 49ers win a SB the trash will stop. Great player. Barring injury, the only thing between Purdy and multiple championships is Patrick Mahomes. I'd be talking to Tom Brady a lot to figure out how to do that.

Next step is to get together with your receiving core and work on timing with them. Don't let Aiyuk sit it out waiting for his bag, push him to work with you so when he does come back you don't get Deebo, or Bosa, or. any other big name talent that sits out "working on their own" and comes back looking like crap

His biggest goal needs to be to stop playing worse in the playoffs. Purdy had 3 TDs in his first playoff game against the Seahawks, and he has 3 TDs in 4 playoff games since then, and that doesn’t even include the Eagles game. If he wants to get a big contract after this year then he needs to play well in the playoffs not just the regular season.

It doesn't work that way. Hurts, Burrow, and Goff all lost a superbowl. They make big money. Cousins has 400 million for one playoff win. Look at Herbert, Allen, Lamar, Dak, Carr, Murray, Jones. They just gave Baker a big contract. That list hasn't even made a superbowl. All make big money. Brock will get the bag.

@@karenhardie1132⁠it does work that way for the 49ers. Jimmy G went to a Super Bowl and they replaced him anyway. They gave up 3 first round picks for Trey Lance and still traded him away. They have shown they have a very high standard at QB and I hope they keep it that way. I don’t care what other teams do, if they want to make mistakes good for them, that’s not a good reason to follow them and make the same mistake. Purdy is surrounded by pro bowlers, if he can’t get it done with them then he will never get it done without them once he’s taking up 50x more cap space. And nobody is moving goalposts. Yeah it’s a good idea to pay a franchise QB a big contract. Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, these are true franchise QBs and their teams will still be in contention even after they get their new contracts. The mistake is paying a system QB like Daniel Jones big money, not just paying any QB big money. What’s the difference? A franchise QB can still win when things aren’t going well around them. A system QB would, for instance, go 0-3 with 6 turnovers the moment Deebo and Trent get injured, like what happened to Brock Purdy this past season. That’s a preview of what the team could look like with Purdy getting a big contract because he would essentially be taking up the cap space committed to Trent and Deebo.

Thing about Brock is he’s always striving to do better. He’s not a quitter. He’s only just begun, getting wet behind the ears. Last year was his first full year and he led the 49ers to the NFC championship win. That’s amazing!! Of course more amazing is winning the SB. I have full faith in Brock and our 49ers. Go Niners!!
