Thank you very much. I find it really disheartening that people are willing to just toss aside the allegations like they didn't mean anything. I'm not saying he did or didn't, I am not saying that keeping him would have been the wrong decision, but it's not something to take lightly , and it is time that artists are held accountable for their behavior instead of getting a pass.

Yakka Brockhampton will never top the Saturation’s. It’s the Illmatic effect. Once artists become famous and comfortable, an irreplaceable piece of that passion and creativity disappears and never returns. You can see it with practically every hip hop act in history.

imo their decision to kick him out says enough about the validity of the accusations and the severity of his actions. it's obvious that we, the general public, know only a fraction of the actual situation so why some people are acting like they know better than brockhampton, who undoubtedly know way more than we do at this point, is beyond me.

in the age of sjw snowflakes it says enough only about the loyalty of brockhampton members to each other. He didn't kill anybody or shit like that. Mental abuse can be literally calling chick a "bitch". And from all those evidences(I mean chicks' stupid DMs of course), I understood that he was kinda overprotective and pushy. I feel like the "relationship with a minor" thing is misleading. From what I gather he was 17/18, she was 15/16, doesn't justify his other alleged behavior, but many high school teens are dating people 2-3 years older than them. If we find out there are others who are even younger that's when I'd think it'd be appropriate to call him out for it. Get him for the abuse stuff, not for being a highschooler dating another slightly younger highschooler.

People aren't getting that BH made it their mission statement to present masculinity in a non-toxic way. Keeping Ameer in the group, especially with verses like Matt's on JUNKY, would have made that image redundant. I don't think they caved to pressure from fans, it was their decision to make and obviously it was more than just the allegations. No one should be attacking BH or the victims right now - especially the latter. I s2g some BH fanboys are acting exactly like the dudes Matt raps about on JUNKY, ironically.

All the songs they performed still had the open instrumental for Ameer’s verses and everytime Ameer was supposed to be doing his verse everyone on stage would kind of be quiet and just kinda say random things like “how you doing bostooooonnnn” etc. Joba, Dom, and Kevin started crying and hugging each other on stage during Bleach when Ameer should have been rapping but it was just the instrumental playing without his vocals. I'm extremely sad because ameer was one of my favorite members, but just because i liked and support him as a artist doesn't mean i should like his actions. I don't want to discredit the victims or jumps to conclusions about if he was wrong or now, however it looks like brockhampton did some research and figured it out that maybe they aren't just accusations. with that being said, i really hope that ameer gets the help he needs, and the victims too, if they need it. ameer is a person, and we shouldn't bash him, but we also shouldn't victim blame. and for all the jerks on twitter saying "see what you guys fucking did" bc he's now out of the band, please stop, like i said, there has to be some merit to the accusations. they wouldn't kick him out just because twitter stans were calling for it. they would need some truth in order to do it. please don't give up on our boys. let them grow.

Just remember folks, this is the move that they're making to save their careers. Especially when they just got signed to RCA. RCA probably had much more to do with making the decision than the actual members did. So we're getting Brockhampton without Ameer or no Brockhampton at all. It is what it is man, hopefully they can still make more hits in the future!

Not trying to say what ur saying doesn’t have a good point, but I think it’s obvious that none of us watching this have the full picture of what’s happening. Brockhampton likely know more about the situation and made a decision based on that. Melon’s video did a good job of laying it out.

Im calling it. The members knew and didn't want to kick him out, especially considering the lyrics Ameer put on his songs, but RCA, the label that represents CHRIS BROWN AND R. KELLY, forced them to let him go. Ameer has been getting help, even going to Bible study for over a year, apologized to the victims, and consistently talked about his poor treatment of loved ones. I hope the victims are doing ok, but these actions allegedly happened 3 years ago, when Ameer was still a teen. Also, why are they ok with coming out about this abuse now, when Brockhampton is doing the best they ever have, but not when they were complete nobodies with no fanbase 3 years ago?

He was my favorite member and the one who kept my interest in Saturation 1. Unless there is something we don’t know yet then I don’t see why he can’t be forgiven. He seems to have put the past behind him and was at least going in the right direction. By how a lot of fans have reacted to this whole ordeal scares me. It’s like your past will always define you no matter if you’ve been reformed. Obviously he deserves scrutiny for what he did but not having his career ruined. Things aren’t always black and white.

That's 2018 bro. Court of public opinion, especially on Twitter, is out of control and they don't give a fuck because they will never be held responsible for ruining someone. And if you actually stand up for someone and suggest we maybe figure everything out and deal with it in an appropriate and measured way, you now support the stupid shit they were doing.
@scottflamingo89266 жыл бұрын
LewieBot couldn’t have said it any better myself. I really hope society starts to shift away from this witch hunting, especially if the person is trying to improve themselves. All this does is discourage people from admitting to their wrong doings and trying to learn from them and become better people.

what makes it not black or white? is there supposed to be some grey area where abuse is ok?
@williammosley63276 жыл бұрын
marissa Yeah tbh, just like anything else... Similar to murder, if ALL murders were exactly the same then why don't all murderers get 25 to life? Yeah what they did was bad, but there's a reason for everything, and some things should be forgiven under certain circumstances. So yes, there should be a grey area, but that definitely doesn't mean that abuse is okay, just that it CAN be forgiven.

It's a difficult situation because so much of society is 0 or 100. Brockhampton's only possible move was to ignore the allegations or kick Ameer out. In this current age, we lack nuance or grey area, so there wasn't a way the group could really "punish" him besides kicking him out which I find unfortunate.

ok that there is less variety is fair. that is fair. But there might be a new member. they might branch out. they might adapt. well see. But they had to kick him. This doesn’t make sense. Why even criticize a member for previous emotional abuse if you aren’t going to support their transformation into a better citizen? Obviously he was remorseful and clearly confessed to all his wrongs in his lyrics, what’s the point of only making his life worse when it won’t even help change him? It’s just ruining a career without sufficient evidence, but more importantly, discouraging any change that he attempted to make.
@JMTom-ig1lj6 жыл бұрын

Missing In Action the emotional abuse could've been towards brockhampton as well, but they are saying this is because of his actions, as if they're referring to the things he was accused for.

I think they're really just throwing the problem aside. Assuming their connection was indeed a deep friendship, in my opinion, the best option would have been to take some time off, confront Ameer, discuss the issue and try to offer him a second chance to change and evolve as a person. I think that would have shown them to be, indeed, a tight knit group. While I understand their reasoning, I think this also shows that there is at least some sort of instability in the group. And again, I wholeheartedly understand the reasoning behind it, but I can't help but feel like it's also a business decision. After all, Kevin's a smart guy, he knows in what direction to take the group.
@jamesd76786 жыл бұрын
Galaxy Fraulein ジ 3:33 they probably had no problem with ameer. Their fanbase has been ripping on BH every chance they have and it was probably getting to the point that it was damaging

Galaxy Fraulein ジ They've got a career. He can pull his shit together on the side (with their help if they wanna give it). You can't expect them to stop their world for a friend who messed up on his own and lied to them about it.
@saxonabeach6 жыл бұрын
I agree. It's hard to put together because the fans don't really have much information at all about what went on but to just say he's gone either means they tried to help Ameer but he didn't want their help or they really just thought the best choice was to kick him out based on what he's done and the negative image he might portray for the group. I feel bad for the victim or victims but with so little information all I can think is how much this is gonna hurt BH's music in general. Ameer was the best rapper in the group I don't know how they'll be able to produce the same quality without him and I hope Ameer can learn from his mistakes and have a successful solo career.
@jamiecal116 жыл бұрын
him staying in group isn't a 2nd chance, it's no punishment for what he's done. they've obviously already confronted him. he fucked up, there should be consequences.
