She did but the album was 90% done so her brother who was her mixing engineer got all of SOPHIE's collaborators to help complete the album
@tayt_4 сағат бұрын
SOPHIE’s brother has taken so much time, that I think this project will do nothing but honour her legacy. With the amount of unreleased tracks SOPHIE had in the vault, there could be 10 albums out by now. All SOPHIE’s collaborators, people who actually knew her and her artistic vision intimately, have shown support for it too. This lead track, feels like a gift to fans, and has the right sort of ruminative vibe for the first track off a posthumous album release. Can’t wait to hear it in the context of the full album. Bring on September!

We have to keep in mind that Sophie’s brother has always mixed and mastered her music. So he was working on these songs when she was still alive. No better person to do this.

I thought the low end would punch a bit harder, it’s kind of missing the airy spark that the demo had and seems a bit darker. It used to be faster and I think it previously used to sound more like ‘a dance track’ but I think Ben her brother probably knows best on how Sophie would have wanted it. The pop of the baseline on previous demos was a bit louder and punchier but I’m just glad we are getting official releases 🙌.

i think kim petras plays an important role in trans representation. if we are to truly normalize being trans in modern society, it is vital that we also have high profile trans people who are not afraid to be fucking garbage.

Been a fan of hers since my group of friends and I discovered “Lemonade” in early 2015 while still in college. The absolute bewilderment upon first listen is an experience I will never forget. I miss her so much.

ftr this song was essentially done, fans have mp3s not much different than the release, it was a track BC Kingdom kept saying was coming soon. I wonder if we'll get Lock It Up, that would be a banger 😭

I’m still heartbroken three years later. Oil of Every Pearl is my favorite album of all time and at this point I can only listen to it once or twice a year because it breaks me emotionally. She had so much more to give this world and she was taken far too soon, and in such a horrific and random fashion. Rest in power SOPHIE 💞🛝
