Today we're going to be taking a look at some useful options that are available for use with the Pacman package manager, to do things from knowing how to query for package info to listing the files contained within a package and even listing out your orphaned packages, there should be something useful to learn from today's content.

Is the command argument/option suggestions a feature of zsh or is there a package I can install for that? Btw, great video, Imma watch it again if I forget about these options again.

Which terminal u use? And how u got vim modes in that?

I use Alacritty but the vim modes are coming from my shell zsh, bash can do it as well.

I think the uu not upgrading now it's a side effect of its original purpose, it's meant to downgrade packages if there's any to downgrade, since there's not any packages to downgrade it doesn't upgrade anything, from the man page on the -u: "Pass this option twice to enable package downgrades; in this case, pacman will select sync packages whose versions do not match with the local versions." Also as a suggestion it might be worth to make a video later on about pacman-contrib that has some useful pacman scripts like paccache or checkupdates.

This video is just way too quick, and you don't show the commands separately either so it feels like a rush to keep up with you while trying them. I paused this video 10 times or so.

This is great information thank you :) However I can't follow you at the rate at which you speak. Becasue half the words you say are unnecessary and I tire of working out which ones to latch onto. If you spoke with only half the words you use just now you would be much much clearer and easiear to follow. This is intended as positive feedback, from someone who would find your helpful and interesting work much easiear to follow if it slowed down a bit. (I don't mean take longer to present the same information) thank you :)

Man you took the words right out of my head. I try to watch this guy but the cadence of words and the pitch are downright discouraging. I generally make it thru a 1/3 of the videos

@@champfisk5613 I think he feels that if he slows down, any pauses that occur, may suggest he has nothing to say and is therefore stupid. Not at all, though such a notion can be a problem, especially with younger smarter people. In fact, slowing down would make the good information he has digestable, and allow us to appreciate the effort he is clearly making to produce these useful videos. If more folks would allow themselves to pause and think before they speak, while speaking, the world would be a different place. Oh but for the long pause ... it's magic .. have you ever tried it?
