between hebron and ba, i must say, i really do enjoy this performance. Both performances of hebron and ba are in a league of its own. Visually yes i do feel more attached to ba’s because of how spread and fluid it is. the music of hebron however just blew me away. on the other hand, a big congrats to ba and their spectacular performance! what an amazing show

Because despite how big the whole marching/guard/band activity may seem to us, it's extremely niche and most people outside of the activity have no idea what it's like outside of the stereotypical depictions you see in media and such

Wow this is an incredibly moving emotional tear jerker and it ABSOLUTELY moved me and brought out pure raw emotion but what makes it even MORE emotional is the quiet sniffles of crying in the crowd especially the people who were recording this video and at approximately 8:35 you could really hear the sniffing and that is exactly when I lost it and started crying myself also. Just so absolutely and incredibly emotional and in a very good way !!! CONGRATS on the first place win !!! You all definitely deserved it and probably worked VERY hard to earn it. 💞💗❤💚💜💙💛💓👍👍👍💪

Marching band isn't about winning. Too many people talk about who should have won what... believe me, in the end, nobody outside of marching band is going to care who won anything when you're out in the real world. Enjoy marching band while you're in it, but stop judging how "good" a band is based on scores. Scores can fluctuate with judges and no band is ever the same between years either. What really defines a "good" band is how much effort they put into improving over the course of the year. Even if it's not top end material, any band who has worked hard deserves to be recognized regardless of placement. In the end, a score is just a number that doesn't define you, your organization, or anything. It's just a one time number.

I went to this school! This was my junior year, the whole school was proud of everyone involved. They got the highest score ever achieved in a national tournament, with a score of 99. Super cool to think about all friends I had who were in that, all great people. The band was very stressful though, and joining it basically became your life for 4 years(Most people join when they are freshmen, since they start giving tryouts in 8th grade).

I am an old dinosaur (52). I recall my marching band days with great fondness. In fact, as a "nerd" back when I was a kid, I found school very difficult. I was picked on and bullied, but in marching band and music, I found a home. I found a family. Outside of the band hall the world was awful but in those walls and on that field I was SOMEBODY. I parlayed that experience into 6 years of marching DCI and in DCI finals three times (Freelancers 87-92). So I think I am somewhat qualified in saying that THIS is as good as ANYTHING on the field at DCI. AND another thing... I don't profess to know diddly squat about guard but this guard REALLY impresses me. I mean in this fixed high camera position they are really selling their choreography. Body lines and shapes read very clearly from beginning to end and teh equipment work is clean as a whistle.

Hebron plays and marches so well. The best playing HS band in the country for sure, but they would have gotten second most likely. If you look at the achievement of the BA kids and what they were being demanded to on the field from music to visual to GE there's just so much demand on the kids part and theyre executing it so well

I’m from Broken Arrow and I love watching all the other bands I’m so glad we got to win but I’d rather loose and enjoy everyone else than win and brag about it, even winning I feel like people should shut up about Hebron vs us, we’re both amazing bands. I don’t enjoy winning I enjoy being on the field and hanging out with my section and making an impact on other people, making them happy. Nothing in marching band is about winning it’s about impacting others and putting everything you have into the field.

Our directors and designers purposely left it vague so each person has a different interpretation. But here are some of the popular ones that have been tossed about. Eternal love being found and torn apart represented by how multiple times there are color guard and horn line members dancing with each other throughout the show but seemingly losing each other. Some people have interpreted it as the stages of love and a relationship based of the four parts of the show. Lastly but not least the interpretation that horn line are Cotton candy zombies and the color guard of immortal. Sorry for any spelling or grammatical mistakes.

BA was epic. Personally, I think Carmel was best. And Vandy and Hebron seemed to better musically. But only BA was epic in 2021. And "epic" wins championships. No complaints. This show has a relentless pace, one, continuous tempo, from start to finish. Even during the 'slower,' melodic middle segment, you can still feel that underlying pace driving the show. Loved it. Progressive. Unique. Epic.

Someone please explain to me in detail what it takes to train brass musicians to push such efficient amounts of air through the instrument and to maintain stamina throughout a demanding performance like this? The dynamics seem to be rising and falling at the same rate among each player, intonation is so so good, tone quality of course, phrasing ending together,etc.
@imdome9768
@imdome9768 7 ай бұрын
now, i dont even come from a program CLOSE to how great they are but it takes hours and hours a day and every day of the week, along with constant repetition to nail parts. as for specifically the dynamics etc they probably work REALLY hard on breathing control and cutoffs. also i believe that it was also the fact that each and every performer wanted to do their best (i cant say the same for our program) and so in that desire, they achieved.

This isn't just marching band anymore, it's a performing art. We wouldn't be able to evoke the same emotion and story from our boring tradition uniforms. We don't WANT you to see the school that's performing, we want you to see the show for what it is. A bit insensitive to imply we lack spirit just because we aren't wearing our boring black and white uniforms. A LOT of soul and energy goes in to each and every one of our performances
