I have been binge watching all kinds of sailing channels for the last month as I recover from a surgery. Just for the record I think you’re channel is number one for me. This fall will be sailing from Southern California to Mexico back to Hawaii and then to the San Juan islands by next summer. I have really loved your videos in particular. You seem like such a cool couple and love how great a job you do of documenting ALL of your journey not just the high points. It has helped me immensely to get more acquainted with this lifestyle as I get ready to embark upon it. Maybe see you in Mexico this winter. I will be crewing on a 55 foot trimaran SV Surrender I sincerely hope we cross paths somewhere. Blessings on your journey mark

Hey Mark! Thank you so much for all the good vibes! It is possible we cross paths! We are heading to Puerto Penasco to haulout in October. We are flying back to the states for the Annapolis Sailboat Show and to visit family before heading back to One Life. We will then bounce our way back down the sea to La Paz where we we stage to cross the Pacific in March. We will be keeping an eye out for you. Also feel free to email us when you get over here, maybe we can catch up for a sundowner! sailingonelife@gmail.com

Spent a week broken down in that same marina. First two days anchored in the fairway between the fuel dock and the cruise ship pier. Fortunately the cruise ship wasn't due in that week! The anchor on the 55' sport fisherman with $380,000 in new engines was a 20 # CQR with no chain-- just nylon I guess after you spend a million and a half on the boat you can't be bothered with things like anchors. My last delivery! Sleep for a couple of days, then enjoy what is a very nice town.

Man what a struggle!!Thanks for keeping it real, hope you figure out the fuel problem.Your Racor should be a 10 micron or larger. I would replace your fuel hose and check you fuel pickup in the tank.Think your fuel is fine in the tank👍.Good job to you both on doing what you had to do to make the passage.I watched Calico earlier and I knew it was a bad passage for you all.I admire you both for your determination to make it to a safe harbor!Hope you get some good rest and enjoy your stay in Mexico 👍

Thanks for all the good vibes! In our next video we dive into our fuel tank issues. This passage wasn't our best but we made it to Mexico!! We've been taking full advantage of the delicious food and of course, margaritas.

I remember doing an anchor watch surrounded by 40+ sleeping sailors and we had arrived at port the day before so we hadda wait to meet the pilot but it was surreal, one minute my 3 fixed landmarks were there then they had disappeared and we had done a full 360° turn.. I woke my ship mate up for a bit of help but whilst it was just meawake a huge amount of fog crept up during the midnight watch and it was just like that scene from pirates1 where there moored off the town and the fog comes in.. It have me shivers.. Loving your content and can't wait to join you on it adventure..

WOW. A Beauty ! What a fish. I've been studying lightning and ideas re trying to save equipment. Delos has used the microwave method for years,, important stuff goes in the Microwave. At least they used to.

Hey! Yes, seems as though quite a few of us use the microwave method. We have used it a couple times. We will put a handheld vhf, cell phone and epirb in there. That fish was a beast! Soo cool to land him on the boat! We hope you are doing great!

great vid i felt the burn reeling that fish and all that goes through the mind >>> one must remember pickup tube for engine is usual 1?8 of an inch from the bottom of the tank geny tube is hyer the reason for that, that is you will loose geny before the main engine .of course that is if running a main tank or day tank.Never SHAVE at sea upsets carma I learned that also the hard way Dolphins are good luck glad they were with you Yes and thanks to dallas I think he runs a roketship seems to just show up at the right time love you guys.

Ahh yes that's how the fuel tank should be set up, but I've learned to assume nothing with an old boat! Stay tuned for how we sorted it out. The shaving seemed to work for the fishing, but not the engine. Thanks for coming along for the ride with us!

Something I think we've lost :( So jealous That frigging fish @ 23:42 OMFG You are always one step outta the grave (so to speak) @35:05 Never Despair Lots of debris that you sucked into the filters (all the filters) at the bottom of the tank... SHIT happens quite literally Air locked?... Tranie fluid too...Sail Issues... just one step away ...LOL Ebb n Flow @40:56 it's all good Serendipity... never doubt Partners in Life Many Blessings to you

It would be nice IF yawl had some LED lights mounted on the mast to light up the WHOLE deck area & the seas ALL around. Like when Gary cuts up a fish, have it all lit up. That would be good for yawl and make for night time video.

Great engine repair Gary MacGyver. Idea about trans. leak and running out - put a container under trans. to catch leaking oil in case you run out before Chappas.

Gary Macgyver 🙌! Great minds think alike! He put a Tupperware container under it so it wouldn't run into the bilge and out to the ocean and also in case we had to reuse it.

I know the feeling of catching a fish with the asym up. All hands on deck trying to douse it. I didn’t quite tie the sock off correctly, and coincidentally the winds started picking up, then the asym came loose and opened up in 19 knots. Had to let that fish go, that time.
