The real question is those of us that seen this as children and are now in our late 20s or early 30s. Did you follow your dreams and achieved what you want out of life so far? Have you walked your own path or one someone chose for you or just one of convenience.

These vibes are GONE. The GOLDEN era. I'm so glad I grew up on this and not streaming.

People talk about this as a piece of nostalgia a lot, but honestly, especially with Outlaw Star, it often feels more relevant the older you get. There's never a time where you should give up on following dreams after a setback or a victory for fear. Gene spends that whole series searching for the Galactic Lei Line like a dog chasing a car, and once he catches it he has to confront what it is he actually desires. The chase made him live, but the catch was the hard part. Sometimes you catch things in life and desires and dreams fall to the wayside, only for you to have to find new desires and dreams. You stop aging when you can find them again, and nostalgia is no longer important.

31 and rewatching this as motivation to get through first semester finals for law school. This promo still hits after 22 years. Hope you're all still creating your own destiny.

Toonami was never just some time slot on Cartoon Network; it was a concept and the seed of a movement. I simply would not be who I am in life today without Toonami. I owe more to it than words can express. Thank you - for birthing an entire generation. Those of us left have shared memories of a past which we can bond over forever.

The first time I heard this, I was going through a lot and this felt like it was directed right at me. I will never forget that feeling. I can't thank the people behind Toonami enough for this. I'm 34 with 3 kids and this took me back to the 5th grade when life wasn't so complicated and kids could still be kids. Mane, these were the days!

It's like injecting a mixture of pure happiness and sadness into my brain. Dear God, I can't begin to explain the headspace this puts me in, all these years later. Thank you, Adult Swim. You're truly the last, best hope for television.

The late 90's and early 2000's Toonami and Adult Swim anime literally changed my life. I would be a different person if not for these shows being made available to a kid in a small town who would never have discovered them at that age otherwise.

I turned 30 last September, growing up I haven’t watched Toonami as much but when I did, I remember motivational videos like this popping up. Time blew by so fast. Now all I can do is cherish the memories that I have when i was kid. No matter how down I get, I sometimes go back to these videos and lift my spirits up. If anyone out there feels the same, just remember that you rock.

The nostalgia here is powerful. 2002-2003, 8th grade and my first exposure to anime and an increasingly high tech culture. Sitting in my upstairs bedroom at night with the glowing street lamp out the window and hours of anime (Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Pilot Candidate, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo! was the first lineup I watched). It was a magical and physically relaxing feeling.

Im 29 and man. This Still motivates me no matter how much Times and gets me misty eyed every time. Stayed with me since I was a kid. And every time I lift the kettle bell, it’s a refuel of fire to keep going on life.

Swore into the Army on 9/10/2001 for Infantry, completely oblivious as to the chaos that loomed, needless to say this bumper brought much need comfort when I shipped out that December. 22+ years, 7 crazy kids and 1 beautiful wife later.. I still come back to this when life gets to be too much.

God, I remember this playing regularly, still just as good as when I was a kid. I need to watch Outlaw Star again.

"Believe in yourself and dont fear failure" I was a kid when this came out and I was already into anime and video games and very shy. By the time I graduated high school I had no plans, some bad grades and basically no hope for a strong start. I took a huge chance on joining the army to be able to provide for my family and make something of myself. I served 10 years in the aviation field and saw the world, deployed to Afghanistan, deployed overseas and had soldiers of my own to lead and train. This message had to have contributed to my decision.

I remember watching this as a kid and being fascinated by the entirety of this clip. Couple decades later with only a memory of the beginning part. Now seeing it in it's entirety again it hits the same. Toonami was a big part of my childhood and having these come back to watch again is amazing.

Back in the day, I would always stay up late to watch toonami or for a brief time here in the U.K. as CNX to watch DBZ, OutLaw Star, Batman Beyond, Samurai Jack, ultimate muscle, Megas XLR, CowBoy Bebop and list goes on. a great part of my childhood.

Man, growing up watching cartoons and anime in the 1990s was amazing. Those were the legendary times. The best times for television and cartoons. This was before the Narutards began to come along around 2005-2007 years. Toonami, Dragon Ball, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing 00, G Gundam, Tenchi Muyo, Rurouni Kenshin, Ronin Warriors, Digimon, Fox Kids, all the Nickelodeon and Disney shows, and the list goes on. I can't even describe it. Being a 1990s kid was the best. Besides the parts where I was bullied. Anime, playing outside, and playing Star Fox and Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64 were the only good memories I had. I still remember the first time Trunks turned Super Saiyan against Frieza and his "Destruction" theme was playing. I was eating ramen noodles. I remember back when I used to have "friends" and I went to see the first two Pokemon films in theatres. I remember Pikachu crying on the big screen and slapping. I think those were the first cartoon and anime films I saw in a theatre. I have not had "friends" since elementary and 6th grade. I don't trust anyone. Since then, the best thing I have done is work at Pixar as an animation intern in Summer 2019. San Francisco Bay Area was the most beautiful place I had been to. When 2008 came, I have been going tons of health problems. Kids today have no idea how amazing it was in the 1990s and around 2000. Today, kids are too busy on apps like TikToxic, sn*pch*t, and "IG." Simp boys are supporting girls on places like OnlySimps. KZfaq is terrible now compared to when it first released in 2005. I was in 2005 back then. Before youtube was ebaumsworld, newgrounds, and that crazy gore website. Everything has literally gone downhill. My sister's son is in elementary and he is into Dragon Ball like I was as a kid. I don't know if he picked it up from me and my videos, or if it was from Dragon Ball Super. Last holiday in 2022, I brought my Dragon Ball Super Broly film in the living room so he could see it. He had never heard of Broly before. Broly and Vegeta are favorite characters. During the movie, when Broly first started fighting, he began searching Broly on his phone nonstop and he was completely ignoring the film. He was not focused on that amazing action at all. It was annoying me so much. Everyone is so locked into these smart phones. It is crazy. In the 1990s, kids came back from school, turned on the TV, and watched Toonami cartoons and anime from 2:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. There was no looking at tiny screen in your hand. If you missed it, you missed it. In fact, it wasn't until high school years that kids started to search for anime episodes online. Nowadays, everyone is in such a rush to see the sub Japanese versions in order to get views for the reaction videos. Kids in the 1990s did not grow up with Japanese sub versions unless they lived in Japan. As far as I knew.

I’m 28 years old and I still remember watching this promo as a kid. It has given me the courage and drive I’ve needed to overcome life’s challenges, and to always keep moving forward. As corny as this may sound, my parents weren't the best, I mean they were there but I was really reaised by my TV...Anyways, I remember seeing this for the first time and I swear it changed my outlook from that day on. I was only 7 but this got to me & after all these years hearing it again and seeing it again I think my kid self is proud of me. Anyways, thank you for all that you brought into my childhood. Now I watch this with my 3 year old daughter, life is weird and at times it seems like it's not worth the fight but if you find the right people to allow to be around you (through trial and error, there will be heart break) and you CREATE your destiny & DON'T FEAR FAILURE...things tend to work out in your favor. It may not seem like it at the moment but they do! Love to all my fellow Toonami fans, I'm glad you're all still around in this journey. & love to all those who aren't. 🤙

Hard to believe I was just 4 when I discovered what would eventually become a wonderful future hobby. Through all the ups and downs in my life, I’m glad Toonami was there for me every day after school and got me hooked onto such great shows. Kids need an experience like this today. Not just once a week in the late dead hours but every weekday after school old and new to cultivate the next generation.

I was 6 when this aired and still remembering it so vividly. Every day after school around 5pm. the anime block was so lit.

Kids today NEED things like this. I plan on showing this to my daughter at some point when she may be able to better appreciate it as she gets older. You don't catch motivational things like this that call that life and existence into question and even addressing one's path and fears in chasing their dreams. All that was encapsulated in this "Dreams" montage years ago for us. "BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. AND CREATE YOUR OWN DESTINY. DON'T FEAR FAILURE."

Toonami has a large part in creating some of the greatest friendships I had in school. Good times sitting around at lunch breaking down what we saw and what we predicted was yet to come.

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?" I can never forget the effect those words had on seven year old me back then. When I first saw this and heard those words, it actually got me asking myself those questions. Questions that most kids that age probably wouldn't even be thinking about.
