Well, I am happy that you know this Goddess, Lara is not a singer she is a storyteller. The first time I saw this woman was 2002 this song, and in the middle tears run down my face, it was like a revelation. Thank you for the reaction. I love when new people know her.

The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian, inspired by a classic piece of Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto N°2 in C Minor). Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that brought Celine Dion to WW fame). He is also now the producer of Dimash for his US career. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests: - Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it), - Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US), - Morissette Amon, - Cakra Khan, - Regine Velasquez, - Almira (from 4th Impact), - Katrina Velarde, - Julie Anne San Jose, - Sarah Geronimo, - Petra Berger, - Harrison Craig, - Rimar, - Jackie Evancho (in AGT), - … Regarding Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.

I really like your reaction to Lara. She is so beautiful with angelic voice. Maybe next time you could react to LOVE BY GRACE from the same concert. Or Her cover from Barbara streisand Yentl. Lara Fabian is bigger then most of us when it comes to forgivnes. She is not only a world class singer she is alsow humble and stunning beautiful..I am so glad that i'm on this planet the same time as she. And I am greatful to have seen her in concert in Tallin in The end of october this year. Thank you guys!

Yes Ginger, that was gorgeous. Lara is one of my most favourite female singers along with Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand and now Floor Jansen, Simone Simon and Charlotte Wessels. What a voice Lara has ❤️🤘🎸🎻🇦🇺

@@ericsicard910 Thanks, I have heard a snippet of Barbra singing Broken Vow, only. I believe there was problem as when Barbra rang Lara, to get approval of her singing it. Lara hung up on her not believing it was actually Barbra on the other end of the phone. Obviously all worked out as that snippet exists. I was aware Floor did Adagio but have not heard Dame Shirley’s version. All those women are wonderful. I forgot to mention Melissa Bonny in that group as well. Merry Christmas

Lara is mind blowing performer & she is also very Theatrical when she preforms. I ❤️her! She is friends with “Gabriel Henrique”, from Brazil . His main channel is his name: Gabriel has a ton of covers, some older hit song’s from Patti Labelle, and other’s he has (Copy Right’s). Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston , Celine Dion, Bruno Mars, others & at least 1 cover of Lara Fabian. Feel free to pick song you like, I am sure you, will not be disappointed.

Vocally both Celine and Lara have beautiful voices, but performance wise, Lara’s resonance, dynamics, phrasing, breath control, etc surpasses Celine. She is unique in that way. She takes you on her emotional journey with her performance…she is the best storyteller. I have seen Streisand and Celine in concert and can honestly say I have been more affected by Lara’s concerts on KZfaq.
