Good points all around. My C line sits here because it is so heavy and cumbersome when I want to get on the subway or go to the grocery store and have to carry it. I have a hybrid bike that is lightweight and great for riding in the park but for traveling, the Brompton is great.

I also own a Verge X11 and a Verge X20, not sure if I really want a P Line or a C Line Brommy (Still researching)... it seems the X11 out performs the P Line in every way except for the more compact storage. I tried pushing a P Line in a bike shop and it was indeed harder to push compared to my Tern Link D8 fitted with a Rapid transit rack which I usually use for grocery or food runs etc.

@@winstonramirez1665 Arr X20 love that bike too. Brompton is great for its compactness. But that's the only place it outshines a Tern or even a Dahon. I also have a Dahon MU SL. It's the lightest non carbon non titanium folder ever made. 19.4lbs without pedals. I have it kitted out with a rear rack, stand. Bottle holder, lights and a phone holder and bike computer. And it's still under 23.5lbs. Beautiful bike. And it compliments the X11 nicely.

As I have made more lightweight additions on my bike, since I last weighed it, and still miss some extra changes, I am rather sure of having reached 9 kilo, and most likely also below that? And I still misses some major work on my mudguards clamps, which are definitely made from "Heavy Metal", and some more brake parts to titanium (Beware of the production year). I do hope and expect to come close to 8 kilo, and still with mudguards and 6 gears. Finn. Denmark?

The Pline Is the only Brompton I would ever consider. The Tline is overpriced for certain for what it is. Still it's not a patch on my Tern Verge X11 which costs about the same. But it's the best Brompton for the money no question. What Brompton have yet to get right is GEARING. They seem to think the whole world is like Holland. And bike worth it's salt should have gears that can go down to at least 27 gear inches and up to a decent ratio of 86. If Brompton can wake up and get this right. Without having to use complicated hybrids of hub and derailers. Then they will have something. A bikes weight is relative. If you have a 200lb rider on a 16lb Tline. And a 190lb rider on a 22lb Pline. Who has the advantage?.

I spent £2,400 on my amazing TERN VERGE X11. People said I was crazy. What they never considered..was how much money it was going to save me over the next 10 years in travel expenses. In the last 7 years its saved me over 20k on my commuting expenses. And at least another 5k on other travel expenses outside of work. Because its such an incredible machine you want to ride it everywhere. And I don't have a car. That's how you have to look at it. How much are you going to use your bike. If its basically your only transport. 2 to 3 grand is NOTHING. People waste more than that on smoking in a year. Cycling is one of the greatest things ever. You get transport, exercise and if like me can save alot more money than the bike cost. So it pays to get a quality efficient machine. That will last and give you the best ride possible. A cheap heavy bike on the hills I have to deal with will kill you. And you will give up and go back to expensive PUBLIC TRANSPORT.
