Did you say that when Kobe got drafted? How about Steph? How about Seth? I can go on for days. It is partly privilege, partly superior training and coaching, and partly athlete genetics. The data shows that NBA player's kids have a higher chance of becoming NBA players and NBA stars. Even Karl Malone's son, whose mother was 13 when Malone did what he did to her, became an NFL player, even after being abandoned by Karl. Horrible thing, but proof that genetics matter in sports.

Idk if there’s ever been a case like this one where the kid is clearly not good enough yet, is essentially being told that by all coaches and scouts, but still will essentially by shoved into the league because of the dad. It’s a pretty interesting situation
@ghostbravo712722 күн бұрын
@@At76812 You can't say he isn't ready, when he does great at every workout with every NBA team. Only his time in the league will tell. I was being extreme intentionally, he obviously isn't Kobe or Steph, but there are dozens of NBA players whose children get drafted, it is nothing new, obviously being born with the right genetics, training opportunities, mentorship, and NBA connections is a blessing for ANY hooper. Here is a short list of legacy players: Devin Booker Steph Curry Klay Thompson Mychel Thompson Kobe Bryant Darius Garland Andrew Wiggins Domantas Sabonis Jalen Brunson Jaren Jackson Jr Jerami Grant Al Horford Tim Hardaway Jr Seth Curry Kevin Love Cole Anthony Gary Payton II Austin Rivers Scotty Pippen Jr. Glen Rice Jr. Luke Walton Joe Young David Stockton Walker Russell Jr. Bol Bol Jalen Rose (he didn't even meet his dad but genetics play a big role in athleticism) Lastly, the entire Drew family and the entire Barry family (where both father and grandfather were NBA players.) The list keeps going on, I could name off a dozen more but you should get the point. Some turn out superstars, other good role players, and some turn out to be just normal, some even turn out to be busts. There are so many, that there are actually tropes now, like the father-son player-coach relationship, with multiple players playing under their father's coaching. Or being drafted by either the team that drafted your father, or the team your father spent the majority of their career with and made a name with. Obviously, legacy was a factor in those decisions. Bronny is as much an NBA rookie as many of the names on that list. To judge him off one bad season where he was recovering from a heart attack is entirely unfair to him, as scouts understand, and teams understand. He didn't have proper minutes due to health restrictions, he wasn't prepared for the season due to recovery, he was playing behind a top 10 projected PG in his draft class, his coaches were afraid to push him too hard due to his heart, and obviously all those things together ruin team chemistry, it is no wonder he had a terrible season that was clearly not representative of him as a player.

Nahh. Disagree with original comment and 1st reply. You think its just lebron's decision? Bronny always says he wanted to be his own man, but let his dad control is career and his life. It's on him too people. Couldn't say No to going to a stacked Sierra Canyon squad, he got eclipsed by other players when High School and College are where scouts will see your game. After that went to USC where they had another startingPG? Bro couldn't find another team so he can show off his potential? This might be bad example but on court stuff, Mikey got it. Went to a team where he could shine. His career was only in trouble because of off court stuff, but you're lying if you think he won't get drafted if he wasn't dumb off court. Bronny, along Zaire Wade just rode their fathers' popularity and basically stayed there. Respect to Melo's son, Gilbert's son and Kenyon's son. They're still helping their sons of course, but they found a way to be their own man or gonna find their own.

People are overthinking the Bronny scenarios. The league is a small place. The GMs talk, and they’ll all have a gentleman’s agreement to let him fall to the lakers, undrafted, or specifically where Bron has pre-agreed for him to be taken. @KhayGeeАй бұрын
@conorcrawford8311 Let's start by amending the "everyone" part for obvious reasons. Nepotism didn't start with LeBron, nor will it end there. Thanasis colle cts a check in Milwaukee because it keeps Giannis happy. There have been coaches in the NBA and NFL that were pulled up by their fathers' reputations. Phillips, Shanahan, Mora, Ryan and the list goes on. The Walton children didn't start Walmart, their father did and gave them all jobs making them the 2nd richest family. Donald Trump, Jr is the Executive Vice President of the Trump organization. The wealthy take care of their own while the others sit around talking about what's fair or okay 🤣🤣🤣.
