Hey Jim! Love B2M as always. Possible note for that ridiculously long game. At 52:25 it looks like opp was planning on attacking tapped out, instead of tyrants scorning you could have repulsed the big guy and used the crime boost to eat the creature instead. Not %100 sure it would have won the game, but you could have had tyrants scorn for the assassin later.

BELIEVER. I think actually winning the game might be a concern here but I think just taking good cards and seeing how they play together early in a format is the way to go. This draft was also a very good lesson in staying open with the flirting with red and black as a second color.

just a tip I've found useful so far, you can be very happy to play anything where there's real power, and if you're not playing green you can get passed absurd packs since there are so many bombs but most people are contesting green, just did a monster esper draft e.g I got wheeled like seven premium removals, bombs, and draws super late

I've watched enough bronze to mythic videos that the intro song has been an earwurm a couple times. Kinda scary but I have saved a lot of gems learning the last few sets.

My first game in Sealed this set was against Oko, Thief of Crowns... on curve. I held in there for quite awhile, but they'd built a nice little controlling shell around it and I drew a couple too many non-creatures, so I couldn't even truly pressure it. Had he elked me, it would've been upgrading my creatures! lmao. So yeah, I didn't win.

Obviously you can’t predict the future but I probably would have tried to go for a green black splash deck with that Omenpath Journey. The tumblewagg and gitrog would have been sweet.

Agree with your take on sac in this format it seems not to be insanely fast, so it's not awful and it does play well against removal especially for green black since you don't want to get exiled but the value just doesn't get there in the face of so many bombs

With all of the crime payoffs only triggering once per turn, the double spell and pass the turn stuff and plotting cards for later, this is definitely a set where proper sequencing is very important. Looks to be a very skill-intensive and fun set so far. I think you're also still misevaluating some cards still. Taking the raven over the mythic uncommon Outlaw Stitcher was definitely a mistake.

BELIEVER. First draft is easy 7 due to bronze rank. I'm going to say OVER for the set. In my sealed pool, there were some bombs that when I couldn't answer, effectively closed out the game as early as turn 3, and I saw LSV do some insane stuff with UR multi-spell in this format during the streamer event. If there's a powerhouse strategy that everyone shoots for, but not everyone gets, I'd say that getting UNDER becomes more difficult, and I worry that's what we'll see in time.

BELIEVE! I had Mana Drain in my pre-release sealed and didnt play it in my Grixis-deck, because i thought leaving 2 blue mana up for a counterspells in limited sucks, unless you have tons of instants or flash cards. Only the next day i recogniezed this is a Counterspell with upside and Counterspell is banned in some formats lost all 4 matches. who else thinks im dumb? >.

I don't really understand your decision at 52:00. They pump the 2/2 lifelinker and obviously want to attack. You kill it in response, then Repulse their fatty. That's a fine reflex, however - the Raven can only trigger once, so a second crime doesn't help. And they're obviously set to attack with the pumped lifelinker. Why not just block it with the Vault-Buster and Repulse the fatty? They gain 3 life but still lose their lifelinker, and you keep the removal. That's also another Raven ping later.

Thru pack 1 u have 0 playable red cards but keep mumbling i think im blue red, bro pivot to green when u see onery tumble whatever. I know its draft 1 but that green rare is def a bomb lvl card Ok at least u did eventually pivot off red but missed 2 amazing green splash cards to stay 2 color

8:40 Imagine drafting UR and then PASSING on Geyser Drake when you have 3 instants in your card pool of 9 cards.. Literally a third of your cards were instants, and you pass on geyser drake. I'm so mad Lmao. that card is so good. I dont understand how Jim thinks Geyser Drake was passable (for a conduit pylons, no less) despite thinking that Cold Case Cracker (4 mana 3/3 flier) was the BEST blue common last set. Bro, Drake is a 2/3 flier for 3 with a huge upside.

I agree that this was not a great pick, I think he got a little lost in the sauce. However, positing that Geyser Drake is as good as Cold Case Cracker doesn't seem quite right either.

clod case cracker was a good card cus it was a flying beater that drew you a card if it was dealt with. drake is just a 2/3 that makes instants and flash cards cheaper. that being said, its good and he definitely could have taken it there and it probably would have been a better pick but taking a land color fixer doesn't seem unreasonable

@@balsamicvinegar4454 having one less power for one less mana is totally on par (if not better) than CCC. CCC drawing a card is obv better than the mana reduction, but you'd have to (1) wait for CCC to die (2) pay 2 man, Sac your clue just to get the one card. It's not like CCC was that much better. Also, I never said geyser was as good as CCC. I just think that the two are very comparable and Jim somehow things Geyser Drake was passable out of those 8 cards or so that he was picking between at that timestamp.

52:18 tyrants scorn on the 2/2 seemed like a pretty loose play. you were gonna bounce the 5/4 anyway so just block with the 1/4 and eat the 2/2. you dont get an extra trigger with the raven on crimes so this play doesn't make a lot of sense. only up side is he doesn't gain 3 life. doesn't seem worth losing a card you dont need to. not to mention losing out on another crime trigger
