am a vet just i have a question ukitumia ngunia how will you deal with the dumpness in the brooder coz I prefer wood shavings because it absorbs the moisture caused by the feacal material

Liquid Paraffin is NOT for provision of heat. Kerosene / paraffin is what is a fuel for provision of heat

Put gravel inside the drinking reservoir this way no loose young chicks to drowning

Yes we do this and is an excellent solution. You however have to remember to clean and disinfect the gravel before using it on the drinker.
