BROOK TROUT COLORADO {Catch, Clean & Cook}

Join us on our trout fishing adventure in Colorado where we catch just under our daily limit. We show you how to clean and prepare the trout and then demonstrate how to cook and eat them whole without needing to filet. The scenery is beautiful, the fish are plentiful and the meal was absolutely delicious! Hope you enjoy!

Brookies are the best, I'm glad you guys catch and cook! It's refreshing to see people making use of the food all around us instead of buying farmed stuff at stores! Keep it up!

Thanks for the comment! The only downside is that you don’t enjoy restaurants as much! Nothing compares to fresh catch, not to mention the great times spent in nature!

Aint that the truth! Brookie every cast just about at most places! I just did a catch and cook for the first time ever with brookies. My verdict=best tasting trout with brown being the second!

I'm a catch and release person, but if regs allow keeping fish, then I'm all for it because it's needed for a healthy trout population. I appreciate the respect you show to the fish and especially to the regulations. More meat fishermen should see this.

Just some advice, I like you videos, but as a former local tv cameraman, I would suggest zooming in all the way first and setting your focus and then zooming back out because too many times when whoever is operating the camera, they zoom in and it's all fuzzy and out of focus, every time. Very frustrating to try and watch during those moments. Just trying to help your videos get better. They're good!

Brookies aren't native to Colorado, they're invasive, so it's fine.

I prefer to quickly dispatch the trout by breaking their neck. It is a very humane death, and it beats letting the fish struggle until they suffocate. It also helps decrease lactic acid in the meat which also has many benefits for meat quality. After quickly snapping the head back the head is still attached and not ripped off as you are suggesting. If you look closely at the pictures you will see that all the fish have broken necks.
