About Impractical Jokers:
Three comedians and lifelong friends compete to embarrass each other amongst the general public with a series of hilarious and outrageous dares. When Sal, Q, and Murr challenge each other to say or do something, they have to do it… if they refuse, they lose! I mean it all depends on the premise of the fake show they were doing. I know it's a sketch obviously but usually in these types of scenarios, the contestants have already seen the woman and are attracted to her and are fighting to be number 1, so that's more than likely what the crowd thought was going on. So for him to agree to be on the show so that he can win a date with her and then turn around and say she's not his type is one hell of a funny scenario 🤣 Or it could have been a blind date type of scenario, in that case it's not as bad but you would still wait until you're off air to say anything and not embarrass her like that on live air. This was a brutal punishment, poor Sal 🤣

the whole point of the show is that you’re there to date the person on the pedestal. i’m sure the contestants are aware of what the person looks like and still choose to go through with it, so sal saying “she’s not my type” wouldn’t have made sense with the context that he chose this

I don’t understand, people get rejected all the time. The purpose of the show is to reject 2/3 contestants from the 3 doors, yet the contestant does not have a right to reject the one who chooses? Sal did nothing wrong.

Ignore the teenagers, this is a TV show and adults understand they have an expectation to at least give things a try in such an exceptional circumstance. Thus the booing from the crowd - it's one thing if she's "not his type" when she approached him at a bar. He chose to be on the TV show and he has an obligation to the spirit of the program to give her a try and not outright reject her.

If someone's not your type and there's no attraction, nothing wrong with saying no thank you as long as you're not rude about it. If she feels offended and behaves like a child, that's on her. It also shows how you most likely dodged a bullet it she behaves that childish about rejection. I know this video is all staged for the entertainment of others, I'm speaking about real life examples where the woman tries shaming the guy because he's not interested.

This was very weird because they were both in the wrong. To the audience's perspective the contestant made some rude comments but was clearly uncomfortable. Then, the host becomes aggressive and starts to berate him with even more direct rude comments. The audience still cheers for the host even though they kicked the last contestant off the show. I'm not saying this comment is about gender dynamics in social settings but about how hosts/people with more power than other people can get away with a lot, supported by an audience as well.

Exactly. It's not the audience being sexist. They always do tend to cheer whatever the host does. I'm reminded of that show (I forgot it's name) where the host literally asks the people what their biggest fear is and then throws that fear in their face. The audience laugh and cheer for the host even as that one poor lady runs away screaming. Also keep in mind that Sal presented himself as a bad person before this so I'm sure some people were happy to see him get roasted.

I don't understand why people like this punishment; 1. Sal didn't even come off rude, more like 'I don't see it going anywhere, I don't want to play pretend and get her hurt' 2. He got trashed just because he said the girl wasn't his type. Most people would find it completely tolerable if it was the other way around and it was the girl rejecting a man. 3. It just feels forced. Brooke goes all the way to be unnecessarily toxic for no reason at all. The punishment would be better if it was just extremely awkward, now it's just... Insulting Sal for literally just saying the girl isn't his type. 4. The way Brooke and the audience react is... Well, pretty sexist really. Acting as if the woman is always perfect and any rejection is unwarranted, but a man always has to like every woman who wants to be liked.

Good points it was such a good idea but I think they could have made it way funnier. Brooke being all aggressive wasn't so fun to watch, and can you imagine if sal was a woman and the same thing happened. Never in a million years! Yet some of the audience were clapping even though Sal was respectful and she was making needless insults... the whole thing is an interesting study on human behavior with the audience and not in a great way!

I wish I could watch an entire post-Joe episode, but to me, it’s just not the same! The two-guys-watching/commenting and two-guys-participating/competing can never happen again, and that was my favorite scenario. I know there are a million celebrities who can’t wait to be on the show, but the vibe and chemistry are not the same! I can tell Sal, Murr and Q are thrilled to be interacting with the celebs, but…this feels like a completely different kind of show and maybe should even have a new title? Please come back, Gatto!

If you're in the audience and don't stand up to that kind of bullying but refer to clapping and supporting it, you are the sole reason most men are depressed. He didn't say anything that deserves even one word of what she said. Yes, I know the show I know they told her to insult him and everything, but talking about the audience supporting all of that (they didn't know it's a show). I'm not surprised the world is how it is now. Imagine if instead of a man it was a woman taking insults like that? Completely different scenario (from the audience's POV)

When I watched I thought it was weird that they were reacting to Sal saying she's not my type when the model said it to James in the 1st round & the women in the audience were like thank god lol. Regardless, 3 of the jokers, plus their guest Brooke did really good on this one. Edit: fixed typo.
