Nora, what a precious gift you have been given, this set of tools we call talents. With your tools, you have built a bridge across time so the joy that people like Roscoe brought to the world can live on. Remember you are the builder, not the bridge.

I reckon it's hours of practice that hones such awesome skills! Saying it's a gift kinda makes it sound like it was just natural and by chance that Nora is so good.

What about practicing? It's not just talent alone.

It's an old Shaker Spiritual. A lot of the shaker songs are credited as 'traditional' hymns although some were accredited to individual authors. I don't know the name of this one. But here are the lyrics. (Obviously you could learn the melody from Nora's version here, as no instrument is necessary: Way down in the valley, my lambs be found, secure from the tempest that now beats around. 'Tis low in the vale, My blessings flow, but on the barren mountains bleak and chilly winds do blow. Be strong, though your tents are surrounded with foes, and vile persecutors rise up to oppose. Be strong, move as one, and place your trust in Me, remembering the righteous shall ne'er forsaken be.
