This method of creating short rows is similar to Wrap & Turn short rows. The wrap is made independently as a yarn over, then worked together with its adjacent stitch to resolve the short row turn later.
To create the short row turns:
0:36 On RS rows:
Work to the turning point indicated in your pattern, then turn the work so that the WS is facing.
Bring the yarn to the back of the work between your needles, then forward over the right needle (forming a yarn over) and start to purl back in the other direction. Snug your working yarn as you work the first stitch after the turn. The yarn over you just formed will rest next to the turning point.
(Note that the yarn over is not counted as a separate stitch, as it will be decreased out when resolving the short row turns.)
2:14 On WS rows:
Work to the turning point indicated in your pattern, then turn the work so that the RS is facing.
Bring the yarn to the front between your needles, and then back over the right needle (forming a yarn over) and start to knit back in the other direction. Snug your working yarn as you work the first stitch after the turn. The yarn over you just formed will rest next to the turning point.
To resolve the short row turns:
4:10 On RS rows:
Work until you encounter a yarn over, then knit the yarn over together with the next stitch on the left needle.
Work to the next yarn over, and again work it as a K2tog with the next stitch.
5:05 On WS rows:
Purl until you reach a yarn over, then work a slip slip purl with the yarn over and the next stitch on the left needle so that the yarn over is placed to the wrong side of the work.
Work to the next yarn over, and again work it as an SSP with the next stitch.
7:09 If you are working short rows in the round, after you resume working in the round you can hide the yarn overs similarly:
For a yarn over made on a RS short row, knit the yarn over together with the next stitch on the left needle as usual.
For a yarn over that was made on a WS row, work to the stitch before the yarn over then SSK that stitch together with the yarn over.
