I'm so happy for Brooks being able to show the world how much of a talent he really is. Brooks was in Bad Religion for 15 years and he was instantly my favorite drummer the moment I first heard a Bad Religion album with Sinister Rouge kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etGIhKWEuLOUpKc.html I of course knew Bad Religion previously from Tony Hawks Underground. I was 9.

if it wasn't for avenged i would never have heard of brooks, but he's the best drummer i've ever seen. perfect blend of metal and fusion chops, super musical and diverse. like a blend of vinnie paul, vinnie colaiuta, thomas haake and thomas lang lol

Joey was a Full Beats. Suck that he got sick and of course, aged not that well. Slipknot First álbum was pure hate and badassness . Eyeore and disasterpiece are condensed evil.

I don't think Brooks is a great solo drummer, but I don't mean that in a way that takes away from his ability. I've loved just about everything he's put out on record.

Brooke is fucking incredible but Chad is literally incomprehensible. His sense of style and rhythm are so mind blowing. He did a live album with Allan Holdsworth, Alan Pasqua and Jimmy Haslip which is out of this world. All 4 are premier musicians who know not only how to play their instruments really well, but also how to interact with the other band members in a meaningful way that always drives the music forward. Chad's solos on that album are some of the best drumming you'll ever find

crazy how fast he plays double bass considering those are single strokes thats not very common these days when drummers utilize heel toe and other techniques more.

@@i2xi392 hey thats a great drummer youve linked to but obviously i wasnt comparing to super fast tech death drummers. i know quite a few myself actually ironically enough john langstreth uses heel toe doubles in that video (not to take away anything from his insane talent)

I just learned heel toe about 8 months ago and I’m glad I played over 20 years without because I got to work on that speed but it’s insane the speed you can get tho.

I wish he had a kit like this with Bad Religion. It would've been interesting. I dont understand why almost every punk band's drummer can only have a 4 piece kit. I don't know how that started but it doesn't make sense to me.

Brooks has always been overqualified for Bad Religion. It’s funny to think Greg would make fun of A7X in between songs when both were headlining Warped Tour. Look where A7X is now in comparison, selling out stadiums......and they poached his drummer! Karma is a real bitch! Jamie Miller gets my vote though

Does anyone know that video that is super similar to the first one? It’s an outdoor stadium and those first little drum things he does at 0:00 - 0:03, he does it on like a symbol type thing? (Idk drum anatomy but it’s like a muted symbol) Edit: I found it, and I kind of misremembered it, but I’ll share it here because it’s so dope. Hail to the King was a stadium rock album and the music composition and theme needed exactly what Arin brought. He has good nuanced flashes of genius on the album. Is he as good as Brooks! Not even close. The kid is like 25 or something. Bright future ahead. I’ve been a drummer my whole life. Lol

In terms of technical and percussion creativity, Brooks easily beats all the previous drummer. But in musical perspective, all people wouldn't simply love his drumming styles, its more like progressive metal, not many people could enjoy this genre.
