I think Tyreese was able to forgive Carol because he had just taken part in the decision to kill Lizzie. Because of that, he was able to understand Carol's actions in a way that he might not have if she had told him before that happened. He told her he knows that she feels it, because he does, too, now. Behind-the-scenes tidbits: Because this episode primarily took place in one location, the director decided to film the scenes in order, instead of shooting them out of order, as TV shows normally do. He felt doing it that way would really help the actors get immersed in the story. Also, the jigsaw puzzle that was on the table throughout the episode was more than just set decoration. Right before they filmed the scene where Carol confesses to Tyreese, the director showed them a picture of what the puzzle would look like when it was assembled. It was a picture of Carol's daughter Sophia, wearing the unicorn t-shirt she had on when we last saw her alive. Needless to say, that helped make their performances even more emotional.

One of the best episodes in the series for me. Melissa does a great job as Carol here. What an unimaginable thing to have to do. I also like how we see how close she is to Daryl, as the smoke is the shack that him & Beth burnt down (hence the burnt walkers too). The only negative - I’ve caught up on your reactions so now have to wait!

The song at the beginning of Alone is my favorite song in the entirety of this show. Also, the grove is one of those episodes that just gets me every single time. Poor little Mika. Poor lizy too, she obviously had some sort of mental condition that Carol and Tyrese just wouldn't be able to deal with.

I think the dog may have lead the walkers to the house Daryl and Beth were at. Cause you heard the dog outside the door before Daryl opened it. I remember originally the dog and the person of that house were supposed to be part of another episode, but it got shelved.

Some people think the "fog" was actually smoke from the house Daryl and Beth lit up. As were the burnt walkers that scared Lizzie. If Carol didnt take out Lizzie, Tyreese would have killed Carol. He understood what she is willing to take on to protect to masses.

Season 5 episode 1 is my fav all time TWD episode. I can’t wait for your reactions. This episode the grove is in my top 5 and love your reactions 😊

Also I have been by that house Daryl and Beth were at. It’s one block away from where they filmed the Morgan and Rick reunion in Grantville Georgia. The house had a fence and guard dog when I drove by it

The plan was for everyone to get on the bus, but the bus got shot up & they died turned & massacred each other but I think those not around that area maybe saw it shot up & just lost it. Also, these episodes since the prison fell have only taken place over 2-3 days so far which is hard to process watching week to week. Episode 14 is definitely one of the more controversial! There was no choice though she saved Lizzie from a horrible death eventually and none was safe with her around. I am currently designing a tattoo that says “just look at the flowers” 😂

There’s simply no understanding Lizzie (or any true psychopath) if you’re not one yourself. Some of us understand more than others, especially those of us who’ve survived serial killers/psychopaths (I have). I’ve become well versed in sussing out their ways of thinking and that’s why I know it’s just no use trying. They’re simply not like us. Hence Lizzie thinking Carol was mad at her for pulling her gun, not for killing her sister.

lizzie was a danger to other children. if carol had left just her somewhere she might get picked up by another group who would assume she's an innocent child an allow her near their kids. carol knows she'll do it again bc she doesn't understand why what she did is wrong, and she knows lizzie will just keep trying and other people will end up dead. and in the end, isn't this death kinder? a shot to the head in a safe place with the sun shining and someone with her. isn't that better than being eaten alive, alone an afraid?

Now Carol knows why Rick sent her away, other than to protect her from Tyreese. He understood why she did it, but if he let her get away with it, he'd have to let everyone get away with it, and that would get outta control real quick. Plus he was thinking about his own children. Could you really TRUST someone like that after? I do agree he should have consulted the committee first, but i will ride with Rick on this till the wheels come off.

I get really irritated that people crap on Lizzie so hard. What she is doing is utterly INSANE. But it's more pathetic and tragic than anything else. Is it aggravating to witness how glib she can be about murder? Of course! But she's a child who is psychologically wrecked and is clearly experiencing cognitive dissonance (one minute she doesn't mind and the next she's running and screaming.) IDK why people expect her to be operating on the same mental level as an adult, on top of being broken mentally in a world like this where she can't even get any help and you have to grow up quickly and smash whatever you're going through in order to survive and function. Like...make it make sense.
