Despite the cheesy production of this video, it is by far one of the most comprehensive and best sewing machine tutorials on youtube. I've gone through so many lame videos of people completely skipping over steps and/or having poor video footage of what the hell they were doing.

As a single man, I'm able to make some simple repairs and alterations thanks to this video and my Brother LX3817 sewing machine. I have two dogs and non of the clothes in pet stores fit on them. I also make or alter their clothes and now they enjoy long walks when the weather is cold.

When I first turned on this video, I thought, “what the hell am I watching?” Luckily I fought through my urge to turn it off and successfully threaded my machine and sewed my first stitches. I bought the machine to create bandanas to donate to the local dog shelter, and maybe a few collars for my own dogs. I’m a guy who forgot everything that was taught in middle school home-ec class so this was amazingly helpful. Thanks!

Me 10 Years Ago: In the middle of Afghanistan, dirty, freezing, tired, blowing up targets, starving to death, being told by the doc I'm gonna be dead from my injuries in two weeks. Me Present Day: Learning to use my new sewing machine while being transformed through music into a magical Sailor Moon girl to battle the forces of evil. This has been a very strange journey...

LMAO. Me 20 years ago: Taking too many drugs, raving and mixing with the wrong people. Me today: Learning to sew along with so many other hobbies I've found after buying my own home and enjoying Sailor Moon commentary. My Brother machine arrives tomorrow and I'm looking forward to learning yet another new craft to add to my welding, plumbing, plastering, programming, electronics, latex clothing manufacturing, carpentry, gardening, and general DIY. It has been a busy journey and I live every day like it's my last.

Me: 15yrs ago, Writing 20pg research papers all night long, refusing to quit because I could still hear that useless high school guidance counselor say I should go to secretarial school because I was 'not college material.' only now I was getting a masters degree. Me now, so overwhelmed I'm in tears trying to understand a damned sewing machine that a woman in 3rd world country can use blindfolded. Why can't I get this??

I was chuckling because this video reminded me of the 90's or early 2000's in a classroom. Cheesy (yet calming) 90's styled music, calm light voice, but easy as pie instructions that far make this the best sewing tutorial on youtube I have come across. in perspective, I can't sew, but after watching this, i feel that i actually have a shot at sewing. :3 Love the video, and thank-you.

I sew several times a week for my decorating business (custom drapes, pillows, bedding, upholstering, etc) My old machine was giving me fits this morning. So frustrating! I just needed to walk away and do a bit of retail therapy. Hit Goodwill and lucky me, just happened to find a brand new Brother GX37 for only $40...seriously, I don't think it was ever used! Such a deal! Unfortunately, the user manual was missing. KZfaq to the rescue! This video helped me become familiarized with my new machine quickly and I was able to get back to work on my projects. I had my machine over a year and just started sewing. You tube videos save my sanity. I’m new to sewing and I made many mask. I just now ran across this amazing video. And I didn’t know to lay the needle thread on top of the fabric. And I have watched others sew. So I was learning from their videos. The way I was sewing was working. I did occasionally have the thread come out extra from the bobbin area. This might be why it was doing it. And my Bobbin wasn’t always working, thanks for that info.

People disgust me to no end. Stupid comments......atrocious music, woman's voice etc etc. You don't like it? Do your own video and watch all the stupid comments that you receive. People have no class and are not cultured. This girls voice is her voice. NOT YOURS. It's hers. She did an excellent job. As for the music. I love most all kinds of music if it is orchestrated well and performed well. The "music" you hear on the majority of FM stations here in America is junk performed mostly by people that call themselves "musicians" ...just a voice that some talent scout discovered with a pretty face and made millions. That's it! It insults great music and fine musicians who paid a lot of money to study with fine teachers and then practiced their asses off to become fine musicians. What do you know about music? People here are experts on every subject. You tube is a wonderful thing but like everything else in this world it is abused by idiots with foul mouths and hideous comments. Remember: "When you point your finger at someone, there are always 3 pointed back at you. Get a life people.

I just about cried when I actually got this machine to work lol. IM SO HAPPY! I had a sewing machine before, but I just could NOT figure the damn thing out so I gave up and have been hand sewing EVERYTHING. Through the process of moving a few times I've lost parts of that machine, so I thought I would try again with a new machine. I saw the price of this sewing machine and read the numerous glowing reviews and just bought it even though I had no real hopes of actually figuring out how to work the thing. BUT I DID!! And it works BEAUTIFULLY! This sewing machine was so easy to set up with the help of this video, so THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!
