A good tune and I do like it, but is it really betters than Eurovision smash hit Save your kises ? I don't think so, and the sales figures more than confirm this. This song does not have the instant impact of Angelo or Figero, but it does grow on you. Beautiful lover was much better than this, and so was Highway man.

@@simonpinlaw4333 is not about 'better', he said its his 'favourite' one. But, anyway, check out the original version of this song by Diana Trask & I believe it actually is a better song than all those you mentioned.

Lyrics It's so warm in here Outside the night is clear I need a walk Have myself a little talk Sleep, baby, sleep While your mama walks the street To find your daddy Boy (Oh, boy) The mood I'm in, the pain I feel In missing him, oh, boy (Oh, boy) I can't explain He haunts my mind and racks my brain I could comb every home, every neighbourhood bar I could ride every Greyhound or railroad car Just to find him and say: "Wherever you are Come on home, we love you" Boy (Oh, boy) Boy (Oh, boy) Oh, boy Oh, boy Weep, I walk and weep Through the downtown streets I wander sadly Boy (Oh, boy) The mood I'm in, the pain I feel In missing him, oh, boy (Oh, boy) I can't explain He haunts my mind and racks my brain I could comb every home, every neighbourhood bar I could ride every Greyhound or railroad car Just to find him and say: "Wherever you are Come on home, we love you" Boy (Oh, boy) The mood I'm in, the pain I feel In missing him, oh, boy (Oh, boy) I can't explain He haunts my mind and racks my brain I could comb every home, every neighbourhood bar I could ride every Greyhound or railroad car Just to find him and say: "Wherever you are Come on home"

Great song. One of their better singles, but the trouble with BHOM is that when they got it right (like here) the song was way too short, very often with no middle eight and was nearly always over by the 3 minute mark. They never really expanded from that. Never expanded their song-writing abilities by pushing themselves to progress and mature. They’d take two steps forward with the good stuff then end up four steps back. They’d ruin the good stuff and lose any credibility they’d gained by releasing nursery rhyme-like drivel like Papa Louis and Taxi. It’s really no wonder their contemporaries ended up doing so much better than them while they ended up with flop singles and albums that didn’t chart at all. They really could’ve been so much more.

Had to double check your comment to see if I'd written it because it's exactly what I think. Their songs desperately needed more. By 79 when disco was in full swing, BOM were still doing their 2.30 length songs which is such a shame because they had some killer melodies, they just needed to fill them out with a bit more effort to make them more credible . It was a real shame they couldn't have ditched Tony Hiller as producer because another producer (Ben Findon for eg.) would have worked wonders with them.

Listen, abba did not invent the boy/girl group formation you know? There were lots of them in those days and ABBA was just one of them, who happened to become the most famous. This however doesn’t mean the other groups were copy cats. Use some common sense before you type nonsense. You sound silly

This was a top ten hit in the UK in 1977, around the time that Knowing Me, Knowing You hit number One. They are certainly doing a great Abba impersonation, but this is clever; it is a cover of a great American country song originally recorded by Barbara Trask. It is not the same personnel as the 1970 group who hit with United We Stand; the voice there was Tony Burrows, who was on numerous 1970s hits. This group is still going and with the same people. That is what winning Eurovision used to mean. But this track is just great.
