3 жыл бұрынAfter 5 YEARS of being on the back burner... the review of Brotherhooves Social is finally finished! This is the price of being too ambitious with my projects sometimes.
That being said, this was my first legitimate collab with Lightning Bliss, who for a long time have been close friends with. And the idea behind the plot of this review was based on when people wanted to see me, review an episode in the Socks and Bow getup since 2014. After a silly role play Bliss and I had, and the episode we watched, the light bulb lit up brighter than ever! I knew this was going to be a challenging video to work on, given the skits we wrote, but I wasn't going to let this slide over the years. Some things we say may be outdated, but the core element of how we feel about this episode still remains.
So with that being said, I present to you... the most overdue project I've had on my channel!

If it were me, I would’ve still been pissed at lightning bliss if she forced me to confess to something I didn’t feel comfortable sharing at that time to all my friends. Like I get it ended well and Golden would have had to confess eventually, but no offense, that was a very jerk way of handling it imo.

A very enjoyable and splendid review collab guys i love it, yeah the things Bbig Mac did in the episode were thoughtful and heart warming, and i'm glad i'm not the only one who realizes that Big Mac isn't the only male cartoon character in history to cross dress, because as we all know and like Golden said Bugs Bunny's been doing it for over 70+ years and nobody's given a crap, sure we was mostly doing it for comedy and to fool the villains but still.

"I love things that aren't...stallion-ish." Join the club, Goldie; I love all kinds of things that aren't seen as "manly" in today's world. Poetry, The Princess Bride, love songs, Shakespeare, Gone with the Wind, cooking, cosplaying, LARPing, MLP...I'm not even ashamed to admit that some music is able to bring me to tears (ex. Where the Lost Things Go from Mary Poppins Returns.) My belief is if more boys did more "girl things;" then, girls may feel drawn towards doing "boy things." Look at Blissy; in the 80's, society said it was "beneath girls/fillies" to play D&D and yet SHE'S one of the coolest players I know

I mean some topics hinted at personal things like racism (Chancellor Neighsay), self harm (when Trixie almost actually got eaten by that manticore because she moved on with the act even without Starlight but luckily survived), disability (Scootaloo), and honestly do they really think what Chrysalis almost did to Spike would entertain kids?

As an earth pony in this universe, I'm surprised how fast you can run as a Pegasus. That's impressive! Also, great review on this episode! And whoever animated the galloping animations for the OCs, you did a great job in this video too! And nice use of the Super Mario World sound effects. :D

I always appreciate the layout of Golden's reviews, where it's structured much like a professional television program. Entertaining all throughout, tossing in little skits every now and then, supports his claims with logic and evidence provided by the universe of content being reviewed, even going as far as to deliver important messages that could make a difference for some of the audience. Using the developed characters of the OCs that many members of the MLP fandom have grown attached to in order to deliver a well told lesson? It works wonders! Not to mention making the insertion of advertisement for other parts of his channel feel natural and genuinely intriguing. Always an A+ content creator, and I've grown to respect him as not only that, but also as a human being. Keep up the good work, Golden! I also tip my hat to everyone who provides a helping hand or two in the production of these reviews! Y'all are super talented!

@@RealCoolstriker64 I didn't say anything about the path that got to the lesson, only the lesson itself. Also, if someone would rather commit suicide than be thrown out of their comfort zone, then that's an extreme response to that scenario. Not to mention that the skit involved Golden being thrown into that scenario in a cartoonish manner, anyways, and even so, it was in front of good friends who would understand. That chase was just for the sake of entertainment value.

Also, living in fear because of what people might think of you is hardly a way to live life. In the end, who cares what your hobbies are? You're not hurting anybody, you're not doing anything illegal... so what is there to be scared of? Another thing. I was complimenting the editing and layout of Golden's videos in general, not just this specific video. And don't go around denouncing everyone who says they enjoyed an aspect of the video, because that's exactly what you're saying you're afraid of others doing to you. Denouncing you for enjoying something. No one's gonna care about what you're into, but people will not respect you for shaming others who enjoyed something you did not. Which is something that you have evidently done a lot of in this particular video's comment section.

9:08 I thought Simple Ways was hilarious! Best Pony and Lest Best Pony are always fun on screen together. I consider myself creative like Rarity, but not fashionable like her. So I can't connect with her. But when AJ was using Rarity's love for fashion against her with AppleJewel, it just got funnier and funnier as Rarity continued to lose her sense of sanity! "I love being covered in mud!" Yeah, said no country folk, ever! Finally, she snapped out of it and admitted Best Pony was right about everything and knew Rarity better than she knew herself.

Glad to hear both of your thoughts on Brotherhooves Social. I actually did like this episode. It was enjoyable. I like the moment near the end of the episode with Big Mac and Applebloom. And I did like the Sisterhood song. It was kinda sound sweet, and funny at the final lyric from "Orchid Blossom". :) It was a great episode, when I first watch it back in 2015. And it was still great now. :)

So... I was liking this video until the chase, and the obvious ending. I know it's part of the story you and Bliss wrote together, and it did wind up "helping" you accept it's okay for people to know. HOWEVER, the way she did it to you IS NOT OKAY to do to other people. That's how you make some1 who's already having troubles trying to figure out that part of their lives become even more withdrawn, and hate themselves for being that way.

Feeling insecure about being interested or into something others might find odd or strange. Being honest and open about our own special hobbies or passions can be a scary thought as we often fear others might judge us for our "guilty pleasures" when towards the end the only ones that really hold us back are ourselves. To Goldenfox and Bliss the creators a great review and a wonderful message. And to Goldenfox's OC you own wearing those socks and bow! Keep being awesome y'all!^w^

12:35 I really hate the episode for that. Not only do the yaks get off scott free but the mane 6 don't even seem upset about Twilight's 'guests' being ungrateful and breaking stuff. I would expect at least they would get mad at Twilight during the meeting. Maybe that's not entirely fair but they would blow up against somepony about what happened. They wouldn't just ignore it.

as someone who likes to wear female's/mare's clothing (im mtf trans, but still pre everything so it sorta counts) im scared of getting caught, im afraid my family will hate me, my friends would abandon me, or heck, maybe something even worse, so at least its good to see someone brave enough to come out.
