Robyn on the Farm’s Steakhouse Brown Bread Recipe DOUGH CYCLE VERSION
3/4 c hot water
1/3 milk
1 Tbsp melted butter
1/4 c honey
2 Tbsp molasses, sorgum, or cane syrup (brown)
2 tsp white sugar
2 Tbsp dry powdered milk
1 tsp salt
2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 c whole wheat flour
1 3/4-2 c bread or all purpose flour
2 tsp active dry yeast
Place the ingredients into your bread machine bread pan in the order listed. Set your bread machine to the dough cycle. It will be about a 90 minute cycle. At the end of the dough cycle, your machine will beep. Remove the pan, turn the dough out onto your counter and press down. Divide dough into 2 pieces, and shape into 2 loaves. Place on a well oiled cast iron baking sheet or other cookie sheet. Let rise about 30 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Let cool completely before slicing if you can stand it. Enjoy!!
