When you get it new, the pump isn't lubricated. Make sure you lubricate it first with some oil or silicon grease. Put some silicon grease on the rubber in the fuel cap as well.

👍 ^ this! I used silicone grease, liberal amounts and it is now butter smooth and pumps up to pressure quickly. I also greased the fuel cap seal, threads

Don't pump it legs open. The high downwards force creates too much moment at the leg's joints and on the tank around their attachments. This may bend them since the tank material is not stiff enough to resist that force. Mine has started to lean sideways like Pisa Tower. I have cold set it to bring its original leveling. Nowadays I first close the legs then I start pumping. I open them after.

Awesome job doing a video on this. I think in the UK this is sold as the "DECHO-C Portable Mini Liquid Fuel Camping Gasoline Stoves". I cant say that for sure, but it looks identical. Im tempted to get one of these because of the impending fuel crisis. I also like the way its designed, because everything that is weak and fragile can be repaired easily, and all the critical components look like brass, or well engineered. As the Russians say about washing machines "Of course it is a good washing machine! Its easy to repair!" (true story)
@TheWtfnonamez
@TheWtfnonamez 2 жыл бұрын
* Important * Mine just arrived and I serviced it. Wonderful piece of kit. Be warned however, it didnt really get the full "fit and finish" part done. There were metal finings in the gas tank, and brown "sludge" in the pump tube. Its worth shaking it gently to see if you can hear the sound of metal dust rattling in the tank. If you can, then undo the fuel cap, invert it, and gently and patiently shake all the metal dust out of the hole. I also wiped the worst of the gunk out of the pump tube. Its probably a mixture of iron oxide and grease, but frankly, less is more when it comes to lubricating a part like that. I dont know how the internals work but my main concern was the metal dust getting trapped in the fuel line so that is definitely worth checking. That said, great kit considering its a fraction of the price of a brand version and probably comes from the same factory

That “pipe” is called a generator and is not a new concept. It is the basis of how all liquid fuel gasification appliances work (lanterns/stoves). Whoever invented it back in the late 1800s though is a damn genius for sure.

Nice stove. I have a couple of M1950 Army stoves that run white gas or regular. Kerosene and white gas are expensive up here in Canada. If I was in the market I sure would be looking at this one. Gasoline stoves will run pretty good in the cold, which is good up here in Canada. I just picked up a 2 burner 1970 Coleman stove for free on Saturday. Thank you for the video

Nice review. I watched the video several times and finally settled on the BRS-29B. These gasoline stoves are loud compared to the isobutane stoves. I am not sure what the difference is between the BRS 12 and the BRS-29B. The BRS-29B is green, comes with a hard and soft case, and the same tools. The cost with the hard case can be 10-30 dollars more. I am enjoying cooking with it.

I think this could work anywhere mate. I would just exercise caution about using it on a desk. It is apparently rated at about 2kilowatts of heat output. Thats basically the BTUs of a decent ceramic space heater condensed into the size of a pocket watch. I wouldnt want anything combustible above, below or beside it, and you totally want good ventilation. At the pre-burn stage they burn dirty. Good luck ice fishing mate.

I tried adjusting the fuel valve, first closing it a little and then opening it a little but still couldn’t get it to run smoothly. Then I tried pumping it up a little more, again with no success. After a few minutes it was out. I could easily relight it and repeat the process but I never got it to run for more than a couple minutes on diesel.

When i run mine on kerosene only, i make sure to get the wick all soaked. I turn it 45° to the side and open the valve so it flows to the wick. Then just light it. Works fine. I prime it for about a minute then it's good to go. It soots some during the process, but no big deal. I never use any other fuel for priming than the one i have in the tank. I've tried a lot of different fuels....white gas, white spirit, kerosene, bio-diesel, BBQ ignition fluid, lamp oil, alkylate gasoline....also mixing them...and i prefer the mix white gas/kerosene 50/50. Doesn't need as much priming as plain kerosene, burns hotter than plain white gas. I bet it could run on cooking/deepfry oil aswell! Love this little stove! 👌😃

Has anyone got this thing to run on diesel? I tried about 15-20 times over the course of two days and couldn’t get it to run for more than 2 minutes. I would prime it and then slowly open the fuel valve and it would start to run as designed. Then after a minute or two it would start to sputter. I tried opening and closing the fuel valve a little trying to get the proper amount of fuel flow but it still sputtered and smoked. Then I tried pumping it up a little more but that didn’t work either. Then after a few minutes it went out. I was able to relight it immediately but the same thing happened. It wouldn’t run for more than a couple minutes. After 15-20 attempts I figured this thing just wasn’t going to run properly. (Afterwards, I tried it with Coleman camp fuel and it ran like a champ).
